I got an email last Thursday from Cornell telling me to email my interviewer to request an interview. It came with his name and email. I emailed him right away. However, it is now Sunday and I have not gotten a response yet. How long should I wait before I start worrying? And what should I do if he still doesn't reply?

one of my friends had this same problem. If the person doesn't respond after a few emails, Cornell will hook you up with a different interviewer.

i called and left a message- nothing for a week. e-mailed her, then she responded. sometimes people are just out of town, you might have to wait a while (maybe a week or more). i wouldnt freak out, and worst comes to worst, just call Cornell and request a new one. not that hard, and certainly nothing to "freak out" about.

If you live close enough (within 400 miles,) I would totally just go to the school for an interview. The professor/admission counselors are really impressed when you go the extra mile to make it on campus. Most people I know went to interview on campus to interview (unless they lived in California or Oregon or something.)

But yeah, if you insist on the alum interview....call the school. Chances are if the alum doesnt respond to you, he won't write thoughtful long recommendation anyways.

Appleapple: Can you do an on campus interview for the engineering school? I already had my alumni interview, but if I had the chance to do an on campus interview, I'd take it.

Since engineering doesn't require an interview, it is just informational, unlike Hotel and AAP, I don't think it would make a difference. In fact, given that they are in the midst of the RD round, I wonder if you could even get an on campus interview with engineering.
