scores are solid, so you are okay in that department. However, they are very big on experience and personality so make sure you come off strong in your interview -- sometimes this is the most important part of th eapplication

i totally disagree. read a book... most colleges barely even consider interviews. They just make alumni feel good about themselves and "assure" worried parents that personality is important, which, in the case of the interview, it is not.

But who knows, maybe Cornell's hotel school is different.

then you don't knwo what you are talking about because Cornell hotel schol is notorious for weighing the interviewing process substantially

hence, the

"But who knows, maybe Cornell's hotel school is different."

but wait...my counselor keeps telling my that my grades aren't good enough, becuase the 3.8 falls into the weighted category. he also tells me to keep take french next year, to give me three years of a foreign language. is that really neccessary? will cornell reject me if i don't have exactly 3 years or more of that?

they won't reject you just because of that. But only 2 years of a foreign language does look very weak on a college transcript. Suffice it to say that most ivy leaguers take 4-5 years of another language.

You should definitely retake the Math IC. I think you have an okay shot right now, but if you improve your math IC, then you should be almost a sure shot assuming you have a decent interview.
