Common App Essay - Personal, and it shows that I enjoy communicating with people.
ILR Supplement: It tells about why I want to be economist and how ILR will help me reach that goal.

Thanks everyone. I'll chance back if you want me to.

Reading your stats, I feel not over wowed. Why is your gpa so low?? Could be a problem.
Your physics SAT II is much lower than your math SAT I or II. Not usual.

You need to be able to explain and present yourself better.

My common app essay explains that I went from introvert -> extrovert during my high school years. That GPA’s going to haunt me for a while, though… Average at my school’s an 88. My 84 freshman year was because of a 75 in Music, and a 75 in Art. Sophomore year I got a 75 in Drafting.

The three SATIIs were taken on a day that I was sick, so I feel pretty disappointed about them. Definitely retaking them all.

Here is my school’s RD decision list (for ILR only), if that helps.
It seems like a very ‘fit’ based school.

Would mid-reach or low-reach seem to be me?

it seems like below a 90 gpa not too many get in, your SAT’s are fine. I would hope for an interview where you have a chance to shine. Make sure you have some good backup schools and good luck!

Thanks to both of you for your inputs. I really appreciate it. :D

Do you think I should spend the time and retake SATIIs for Physics and US History at all? ILR seems to only require the Math one.

And do y’all think that ILR will help me become an economist? I like the school’s labor economics and social statistics concentrations. I’ll be emphasizing how being a forum administrator helped me get into industrial relations.

TheSternLock: The link you provided is very interesting. Where is it from and what do the numbers represent? That last candidate must have had a major hook. Do you know what it was? Can you give some description about the link?

How does that GPA look on a 4. scale? Is it just a percent?

I know this post is old, but please help. Did you get in?

Wouldn’t a major in economics be more prudent if you wanted to become an economist?
