Cornell ILR Guaranteed Transfer Questions

Hi all-Few questions.
Does ILR have a waitlist? If so are people from the GT list incorporated into that or is it separate?
Have there ever been instances of GT people being requested to attend freshman year?
Can you transfer after the fall semester?
Do people have a hard time with the transition?
Can you still rush as a soph? Or is it too late?

I want to grasp everything that Cornell has to offer! :) If only they wanted me frosh year! :(

I have the same questions/concerns.

ILR does have a wait list and i’m on it right now. GT and wait list are two separate things, i believe. a GT is a rejection but an offer to transfer sophomore year, and wait list gives you the chance to be admitted freshman year. realistically, the wait list hasn’t accepted anyone in years, so i would’ve definitely preferred a GT

So they reject me now? I noticed that their letter of transfer was really carefully worded- a little to carefully worded, which brings speculation that they might not honor this if too many people apply?

i emailed them and they said wait list applicants will be offered a gt as well if they don’t get in off the list

Has anyone talked to admissions to see if this offer is really “guaranteed” so long as we meet the requirements? If not, I plan on calling tomorrow.

I emailed ILR a couple days ago (I’m also on the waitlist). They affirmed that if we don’t get in off the waitlist this year, we’ll have a GT for next year as long as we keep a minimum GPA of 3.3 with no grade less than a B (and also take some required core classes). Hopefully we can get in this year, and in any case, I hope we can all meet again in Cornell either this year or next  Good luck to all of you.

so its better to be on the wl. :(

@jadorekouture I thought the same thing, but turns out it isn’t really because ILR hasn’t had a waitlist in years, and never accepts people off of it…

I was a GT last year when there was no wait list and I was heartbroken, but then was told that historically Cornell never uses its wait list
