I scored a 32 on my ACT. I have a 4.3 weighted GPA, 4.0 unweighted. I’ve taken 9 APs, and will take 4-5 next year. I have many EC’s: Vice President of my school’s environmental club, have volunteered as a conselor at my local YMCA for 500+ hours, have gotten 1st place at science fairs for 2 years (hopefully for 2 more years), am in MUN, FBLA, run Cross Country, Junior Achievement, Ski Club, my school’s ambassador program, am a Lifeguard, in NHS. I’m sorry if I am making anyone feel bad on here for not doing enough, but I promise I am not fishing for compliments. I would just like to know if there are any other areas I should improve upon. I also am trying to land a Summer Internship at a laboratory. Also, does it help to be from a public school, admissions wise?

You should retake the ACT to try to improve that score a bit.
In my opinion, I think you are a competitive candidate for Cornell and will most likely be accepted. If you want an even higher chance of being accepted, then retake the ACT, but I think you are good.
@studyhard13 No, OPwill not “most likely be accepted”. Cretainly with the ACT scores and GPA puts you in as a competitive applicant but the acceptance rate for Cornell is 14%. That means for every 10-11 kids they pick one. You certainly seem to be strong academically however your EC seems to be like a laundry list.
MUN, FBLA, Ski Club, Cross Country, etc makes you sound like a generic student that top colleges (such as Cornell) would get.
While looking at your application I think you seem to have your strong parts in the science field so make that your center and build around that once your application comes.
