Very Very Strong/well written rec from Computer Science teacher
Strong-Very Strong/maybe not so well written rec, but from Physics teacher so what can you necessarily expect?

I really feel like if I cant get into any of these schools, then theres really no school that fits me very well. I visited Northwestern and Michigan and didnt really like either, but these are all reach schools for me. I cant find anything thats below these schools as far as engineering is concerned besides big public universities. Id like to do interviews at all 3 because I feel like Im probably more personable and socially capable than a lot of potential applicants at these schools. I know my ECs are my weakest point but I hope that work experience will help me to make up for my lack of in school ECs. Im a white male by the way. I dont know of anyone else from our school that has gone to any of these three schools, but one of my best buds has me beat on nearly everything other than recommendations and he is applying to Rice and will go there if he gets in, so that could hurt me Im assuming.

In addition to those three, Ill add on Carnegie Mellon, Boston University, Vanderbilt, and University Of Rochester to the mix. I feel like I really should have been doing this stuff atleast a month ago...

Any ideas??? 66 views...

Dont mean to keep bumping but its already on the second page again.

Oh yeah and another thing, a buddy of mine who is a bit stronger than me in nearly every category is applying to Rice and Cornell. Does this basically eliminate my chance of acceptance because he is from the same school as me? He really wants to go to Rice but he would go to Cornell if he does not get into Rice and does get into Cornell.

bumppppppppp

haha...sorry, i apologize on behalf of CC...i guess they're just too busy to view your stuff! I refuse to predict (though I do hope you ahve a good chance at JHU...i wanna apply there, but my stats are nothing like yours) chances.

SAT- have you taken the new SAT?

Read the cornell site requirements carefully- I think for the old SAT you need 3 SATII tests with one in writing. I'm not sure but you should check

You could add RPI and/or Worchester Polytechnic, but you seem to be more interested in universities. Is there an acceptable state school that you could use as an absolute safety? You are probably OK with your list. You can probably consider BU a high safety/low match.

I actually opened up another thread with a better written post. sorry.
