Cornell Lax Ranked #2...

...in this week's media poll, #3 in coaches poll. Big game vs. Princeton this Saturday in Ithaca.

nice. Lets see if they can bring home a title this year.

Saturday’s game vs Princeton, starting at 12:30 at Schoellkopf Field, will also be televised on CBS College Sports.

Any sports lover there who hasn’t seen the sport should go out and catch a game, they’re really good. I never saw it myself until I came to Cornell. We had really great teams when I was a student, I’m glad to see that tradition continuing. It’s an exciting sport.

Cornell Men’s Lacrosse has won the Ivy League outright and will host the Ivy League tournament. Saturday’s game is a chance to sweep the Ivy League in 2011. As they did in 1976 I believe, before winning the National Championship, which was played at Brown. The players still talk about an all-night post-game party in West Hartford CT – at the home of one of my high school classmates (her older sister was dating one of the players). Lacrosse is a very small world!

Monydad must have been at Cornell in the 70s. There are sons of the players from those National Championship teams currently playing for Cornell which is how I hear these stories!

I’m going up for the Princeton game – my first game this year in Ithaca now that I am an alumni parent! I’ve seen a few other games that are more local to the NY metro area and the team is looking really good.

Let’s Go RED!!!

Yes, I was there in 1976.

I think there are 4 players on the team who are sons of former Cornell laxers. Cornell lax is a family!
