he may go there ----> knows people

i guess maybe if you read a list of all the incomming transfers and where they went. I didn't know colleges published things like this though, I'm not allowed to give out lists like this at Cornell.

I'm just wondering what are the odds to "constantly" know people who transfer into ND from Cornell when the retention rate at Cornell is over 96% (around 100 students per year, minus the ones that just drop out, how many are going to end up at the same school that's in the midwest <majority of="" student="" body="" is="" from="" ne=""> and not a top-20 college). I lived in a building full of transfer students yet I couldnt tell you where 75% of them went, I'm wondering how this guy knows what he does ... or if he's just trying to falsely pump up his school. </majority>

Juuuuust wondering...

haha good point

FWIW, Notre Dame is currently ranked #20.

First: I'm on the Transfer Committee at ND. I get all the info. I want.

Second: "minus the ones that drop out" - are we talking about dogs, cats, fish? try the ones "who" drop out. is that how it's taught in ithaca?

Third: Thank you, brand_182. ND is at #20

Fourth: "falsely pump up [my] school" - I don't need to do this. Half of America participates on that front.

"First: I'm on the Transfer Committee at ND. I get all the info. I want."
I'm on it for Cornell too, in fact I work for admissions. I still can't get this info, only a few people legally can. I guess you can look up the confidential college transcripts and social security numbers of students comming in as well, that must be some awesome committee that can get all of this private information when you're neither reviewing the apps. on the admissions board nor work for the student registration center.

"Second: "minus the ones that drop out" - are we talking about dogs, cats, fish? try the ones "who" drop out. is that how it's taught in ithaca?"
You're stooping down real low if you're going to pick apart my grammar. I guess I could get on you for forgetting to capitalize the names of cities and at the start of a new sentence - even more elementary that my mistake. Also, what the heck is this series of sentences: "I get all the info. I want."

"Fourth: "falsely pump up [my] school" - I don't need to do this. Half of America participates on that front."
Perhaps half of Indiana (or w/e state ND is in).

gomestar is right on the money. outside of college football, nobody "pumps up" notre dame. please do not try and pat yourself on the back. ND is awesome, and i'm a huge fan of the football team...but dont go on and say that ND is America's university. millions of people have absolutely no idea that ND is a good academic school. they just know brady quinn, etc.

so all in all, the only pumping being done is iron in the football team's weight room.

yours is an error. it's not debatable. mine is common internet talk (and ithaca doesn't deserve a capital I). also, if you can use w/e, I can abbreviate information

don't be sour ND's hockey team did better than Cornell's last season

"don't be sour ND's hockey team did better than Cornell's last season"

don't be sour that somebody here called you on something sly you tried to pull to boost your school.

I guess if ND has to have something over Cornell, may it be something about sports. I'm satisfied with that.

LOL, gomestar's mistake is deemed as improper usage of grammar while NDFreak7 claims his mistake as internet talk...the arrogance! Please stop posting NDFreak7, you're not doing your school a favor by acting like a stuck-up moron on this forum.

"I lived in a building full of transfer students yet I couldnt tell you where 75% of them went" - In regards to that comment, I'm happy to see Cornell is a place where relationships are built.

""I lived in a building full of transfer students yet I couldnt tell you where 75% of them went" - In regards to that comment, I'm happy to see Cornell is a place where relationships are built."

there were 250 people in the building you tard, should I have interrogated all of them???

Ithaca doesn't deserve a capital "i" but yet south bend, indiana does?

oooh thats right i forgot. Bumblef u k, NY is worse than Bumblef u k, IN. how could i forget?

i didnt want to post here again, but i just wanted to say that NDfreak is a complete douche and represents all the misconceptions I thought I had about notre dame.

lol! Yes I do agree NDFreak is perhaps the most annoying person on these forums.. but I suppose all websites need at least douche bag.

ajp87 - History planted itself under the golden dome. That's why everyone travels to our campus, especially on fall weekends.

"In regards to that comment, I'm happy to see Cornell is a place where relationships are built." -- 'In regards to' - it's Substandard and Vulgar. I'm glad Cornell teaches grammar. I set you guys up to come down hard on me....and you failed to do so.

"ajp87 - History planted itself under the golden dome. That's why everyone travels to our campus, especially on fall weekends. "

lol, golden dome - is that what you dream about giving to the jocks on campus?

"I set you guys up to come down hard on me"

Whenever a mistake on your part happens, that's always the case, right? It was on purpose, I see.

"I'm glad Cornell teaches grammar."

I get the sarcasm - but do you really want to say "even though Cornell doesn't teach basic stuff like grammar, the school is still held in higher regard than ND." Nice work there, buddy!

actually, I dont mind the grammar police here. If you can't pull a real argument yourself, might as well call people on grammar.

ill give you the golden dome joke but you guys wish you had sweet athletics

obviously it was on purpose. do you see any posts correcting me? nope.

yeah, Cornell is held in higher regard than Notre Dame. it's harder to get into ND though

"yeah, Cornell is held in higher regard than Notre Dame. it's harder to get into ND though"

Notre Dame acceptance rate: 27%
Cornell University acceptance rate: 21%

I guess reading and grammar are different.

"you guys wish you had sweet athletics"
we have the ivy league athletics. You guys wish you had that.

"do you see any posts correcting me? nope."
nobody cares enough.

it's harder to get into ND though

That statement is false, both with regards to freshman and transfer statistics.
