"why didn't you answer my question about Grammer?"
NDFreak: wow your extremely pety, do you need your ego inflated so bad that you must insult somones grammer on a forum(should we carefully proofread our posts??).

O ya, and ND football is ** OVERRATED ** past two years they have done terrible in their bowl games and the only reason ND gets ranked so high consistantly is because of the past. (ie. when they were good a half a century ago)

Dancergirl: I think you should go with whichever school you truly beleive you'll be happiest at. Although, BC doesnt have the prestige of an Ivy League it is still a very good school. Neither Cornell nor BC are bad schools and I dont think anyone here can tell you which is the best for you(you really cant make a bad decision here).

If you choose Cornell I'll see ya next year.

do you want me to get down on my knees and say your name?
If it's not too much trouble.

he'd have other plans on his knees like that

does anyone else here have some real advice for me on my BC vs. Cornell situation??
Oh yes! The point of this thread. I still think you should go to BC because you sounded really excited whenever you posted your acceptance from the waitlist, like it was something you'd been hoping for. Had your heart been set on Cornell, you shouldn't have cared at that point. So yeah, prestige goes to Cornell but it's always based on fit, IMO.

Do you know the adage about buying real estate: Location, location, location?
Go with BC....

what the hell does buying real estate have to do with a college decision?

Real estate has NOTHING to do with selecting a college. I was simply making the point that if one has to decide between BC and Cornell, BC's location is much better. Gee, I thought that was fairly clear; guess not.

Hmm...well, BC's location is also better than Yale's. Is it safe to come to a similar conclusion? How about BC vs. Dartmouth? BC vs. Princeton?

BC has a better city location, but cornell's location is preferred for many others, especially for college.

LOL!!!

honestly, if you base it on comfort, i think that BC is way better than cornell (not in academics, though). BC is prolly smaller, more compact, better env., and its considered a "Jesuit Ivy" so its cool lol...

"what the hell does buying real estate have to do with a college decision?"

i know the stuff i say will ignite fires. that's why i say it. you're just as guilty responding with that question. you're full of it.

"i know the stuff i say will ignite fires."
no, it ignites laughter. Sorry if you really want to ignite fires, lol!

"you're just as guilty responding with that question."
no, that's me wondering what on earth real estate has to do with a college decision. If I've ignited anyone's fire, then they have some problems beyond just a college decision that should be looked at.

"you're full of it"
hahaha!!! I think we all really know whose full of it, "Mr. Insider Information"

thanks for the nickname. i kind of like it. i just wish someone else had given it to me. i'm looking at a sheet right now (ok, i lied. it's a file on my computer.) that lists admitted transfers. it includes the school each student transferred from.

Gratn15- That poke at Notre Dame's football program was uncalled for :)

"I think we all really know whose full of it..."

gomestar: Your use of "whose" is incorrect. It should say "who's," which acts as a contraction for "who is."

"wow your extremely pety" and "consistantly"

Grant15: "You're" and "petty" are obviously correct. Also, consistently is spelled as such.

For those who asked why grammar matters: Readers will judge your written words harshly. Errors and mistakes such as those committed in this thread do not befit serious students, let alone scholars at Ivy League institutions. Such gaffes tarnish the quality of content in messages. Your lack of attention to detail could undermine the reputations of your respective colleges and universities.

Yes, so for your future benefit, it would be wise to watch those commas! ;)

Leadcommis: Seriously, get a life. Forums are an informal means of communication, just like talking casually to a friend; or talking on AIM. We are not writing published materials, and as such we shouldnt have to supply material grammatically correct in such an atmospheeeereee(omg typo judge me more please).
No one should have to live their life adherinng (omg another typo, wow im the worst person ever; I disgrace my school.) to some standard of perfection because Readers will judge and if a person does I feel sorry for them because they are truly insecure (which it seems you may be my grammatically correct friend). Personally people can judge me all they want for making a typo in a quickly put together comment on a public forum. Someone who would judge harshly such an insignifcant little error is a complete and utter hypocrite among many other things.

OP, I think you are better off at Cornell.

Even though it's not the greatest school (cornell) you should really be looking at which school is better for you major. As well as prestige of the school relative to Cornell. And honestly, Cornell is a science oriented school. It has a great location, I'm sure the pre-med people will be more intelligent than the general student populace. BC is a great school, but I think it would be the wrong choice. Cornell might have slightly less school spirit but it's still there as with any top school.

I almost went to BC as a freshman but ended up at NYU (not stern). Did some transfer apps and ended up turning down xfering Cornell to go to Stern. So yes it's all a matter of preference but I think your decision is clear.

"gomestar: Your use of "whose" is incorrect. It should say "who's," which acts as a contraction for "who is.""
hahaha!! Woah is me!
Further proof that you're just NDfreak.

" Errors and mistakes such as those committed in this thread do not befit serious students,"
last time I checked, this was an informal online forum. Can you not distinguish this?

"Such gaffes tarnish the quality of content in messages."
and are the only thing those with losing arguments can point out. I'll take the superior argument, you can pick apart my grammar in revenge. You don't have to answer, it was already a done deal.

"Your lack of attention to detail could undermine the reputations of your respective colleges and universities"
Hahaha!!! And look at what an idiot you are for picking apart all of our small online public forum typing errors when you completely missed the fact that I made up a big word in one of my most recent posts. Remember, attention to detail could undermine the reputation of your respective college and university ... and you missed the biggest detail yet!! Way to blow that one, nimrod.
