Cornell or Dartmouth?

Hey everyone.
I'm a Latina from Miami, Fl, but I go to a prestigious boarding school in NH.
I am interested in sciences and I have a 31 for the ACT.
I was wondering where you guys would think I would have a better chance of being accepted in. I was thinking about applying to the engineering school for Cornell.
My grades are average, my EC's and recs are strong, and I have an interesting background/story.
Thanks!

bump bump :)

What exactly is your gpa because average is vague…just at of curiosity what school in nh, because I am from an live in nh

I vote Cornell. Bigger school, very strong in sciences and engineering.

your ACT could be higher. Math scores for your SAT and SAT IIs are very important. ECs and other out of school activities play a role. Have you done anything to show interest in engineering? Cornell’s engineering program is very solid, and though it accepts a fair number of applicants you still have to prove that you’re a cut above most applicants.

your chance: from what little info there is, I’d say it’s a reach (not low, not high). Your chances hinge on your ECs and strength in math, in my opinion.

any specific questions? send me a visitor message and I’ll get back to you. I have a sibling in engineering, have met professors, live near the school, and have been accepted to Cornell myself for the fall. I’ll help you with what i can

good luck!
