Cornell or Harvard?

A quick search on the [LCTL database](The Center for Advanced Research on Language Acquisition (CARLA): Less Commonly Taught Languages) indicates that only Cornell, U Oregon, U Hawaii, UCSD, and Northern Illinois offer Burmese. The last has a (Center for Burma Studies | Northern Illinois University) and might make a very nice safety with merit scholarships factored in. LCTL is not entirely accurate and up-to-date, however, so there may be a few other options. It seems that Harvard [offers it at least occasionally](Burmese | Department of South Asian Studies).

If you’re interested in working in Southeast Asia, check out the [Critical Language Scholarship](http://www.clscholarship.org/). There are no options in Myanmar, but Indonesian is offered. The deadline is in two days.
