Cornell or Penn???

Which do i have a better chance at next year ED??? Penn or Cornell?

SAT: cr 650
m 790
w 750
Total: 2190

SAT2: bio 730
chem 720
math2 760

All honors/ AP's possible-- all grades 90+ except for one (AP physics)

rank : 15/680
white male

ec's: varsity tennis (all 4 years), orchestra (cello), private cello, hospital volunteer, french honor society

Also… I did some research throughout high school that i may submit

I think you could get into Cornell RD, so ED Penn.

You seem to have met all of Cornell’s requirements, and somewhat matched Penn’s. Your EC’s are okay, but no leadership??

thanks  anyone else??

Depending on the essays and rec, you should be fine for Cornell.
Make sure that in your app, your passion is emphasized.
Perhaps tennis? You do that year round?

thanks…yup i do tennis all year…is this a major boost to my chances??

anyone else ??

bump…

Which do you want to go to the most? You have a better chance at Cornell and you would have an even better chance if you apply early. Look at the links below for some stats on upenn and cornell:

thanks…is the info on that site reliable?? like the sat averages and stuff

also…i forgot to include:

Unweighted: 96.13
Weighted: over 100

anyone else?? please :)

Hey

I personally would say to go ED to Penn, because I think you could get into cornell regular with your scores. I dont know how good a tennis player you are, but contact (preferrably face to face but email works as well) the coaches at both schools. It is frustrating seeing optimism from people responding to your thread (of which I agree) and then seeing my thread and more or less equal ECs and scores/class rank etc. and having people on this site tell me they think my chance at cornell is around 30%. I really think you could get into cornell and have a pretty good chance early at Penn.

thanks… :)

Cornell is getting harder to get into. Admit rate is down below 20% for the first time ever and Arts and Sciences is getting down to about 12%. It really depends on what you applying for - ILR? CALS? A&S. The undergraduate business program, part of CALS, is very difficult to get into. Cornell looks for a good fit, this is just as important as any of the stats. I would say ED to the school you want the most.

i would probably be applying to arts and sciences at both cornell and penn

bump…

bump…anyone else???

bump…again…please…anybody else have any thoughts on my chances ED at cornell or penn or anywhere else similar
