I am not asking which is better but which is harder to get into?

Cornell is.

U of C= University of Chicago?

Cornell is harder to get into, but U of C offers a better education and atmosphere despite its hard curriculum that can drive some a bit crazy sometimes.

My bro and I were identical students with identical transcripts and almost identical features. He went to Cornell and I'm at Chicago. My feeling is that the two schools are about the same difficulty to get into, but there's more demand for Cornell and the U of C draws from a more academic crowd, and I get the sense that there aren't as many kids aching to get into Chicago as there are kids aching to get into Cornell (at least from what I see, but I'm from New York, where Cornell reigns supreme).

On paper, my brother and I could not be more the same. But our priorities, both academic and social, were entirely, entirely different. His enthusiasm for Cornell is on level with my enthusiasm for Chicago. We both have a hard time understanding the appeal of the other's school :-)
