Hey guys! So there’s a good chance I’ll be attending Cornell in the fall, and I just wanted to learn more about the party scene. I love to go out and have fun, but I’m not too keen on joining a sorority, so will not going Greek stop me from having as much fun/attending as many parties or mixers? And are the parties exclusive or are open ones held every week? Any info is much appreciated. Thanks in advance!!
First semester freshmen won’t have any problems getting into parties. They’re mostly all open. O-Week (orientation week) will be awesome because virtually every frat will be open and invite people to party. However, once rushing and pledging begin at the start of the second semester, most of the parties become closed for mixers for the rest of the semester.
@runnergirl09 I would suggest being open minded about greek life until you experience it here. You may find that you’ll really enjoy it.
@CGZoo42 Thanks so much for the info! I will definitely keep an open mind about greek life - it seems to be a large part of the social environment at Cornell.
