Cornell, Penn, UCD; I'll chance back!

Im a junior and I wanted to apply to Duke, Cornell, UPenn and a few other schools next year. I dont think Im necessarily a totally qualified candidate given my currents stats, but what are the especially weak points that I could work on?

Im applying 1st generation
Ethnicity: Hispanic
Household income: ~ $40k
State: Florida

SAT: 2080 (690 CR, 690 Math, 700 Writing)
UW GPA: 3.9
Weighted GPA (6 point scale): 5.4

Havent done subject tests yet

APs: AP Environmental, AP Stats, AP World History, Ap Art history, AP Human Geography (All 5s)
Current course schedule: AP Physics 1, AP Bio, Ap Cal ab, AP US history, AP english lang, AP micro, AP comparative gopo, AP euro
Senior Year schedule: AP Physics 2, AP English lit, AP gov, AP macro, AP Chem or AP Physics C, AP psyc, AP Cal BC, AP comp sci

Ive also taken about 40 credits at local colleges and I'll have about 90 credits or so by the time I apply. My college gpa is a 4.0. Among those credits, I took two classes at the harvard summer program this year, and my marine bio professor said he'd write me a letter of recommendation.

ECs:
Cross country (no awards or major competitions)
Im an officer in my student government
200+ hours volunteering at local shelters and fostering kittens, this will probably be around 500 or so when I apply
President of Animal science/Environmental Club
Started an annual Earth Day celebration at my school
I havent started yet, but Im going to start doing research under a University of Miami professor in ecology soon

Chances for:
Cornell CALS as Animal Science major
Duke
UPenn - College (my sister currently attends as a junior)
UC Davis
UC Berkeley
Northwestern

Strong Course rigor, Strong GPA, Solid EC’s. SAT could come up a bit but I don’t think its even close to ruling you out at the schools you’re looking at. Hispanic gives you a pretty good chance of getting in to at least one of these colleges. It’s a good shot for all of them, I’d even recommend ED at UPenn. Good luck, and chance me back!

Pros: URM, AP scores, rigorous courseload, sibling legacy at penn

Cons: low SAT score, lack of focused ecs.

There is no particular focus chaining your activities together, an this could be a problem. Raise your SAT to 2150+ and showcase a passion in your ecs!

I would say mid reach at penn and cornell, match for others.

I would get those subject tests done first. Second, keep your grades up. Grades are the most important thing.

Also remember that if you want the benefit of legacy status at Penn, you have to apply ED. Get started early on your essays. You knowledge of Penn should be beneficial with the essays.

Strong course rigor and gpa if you continue working hard this year I’d say you have some pretty good chances!
