Cornell: please chance me I'll chance back

Please chance me? I wish to apply to the Cornell school of ILR. Law really interest me, and so do social relations.

SAT: 2080 (CR 690, M 650, G 750). Taking the SAT once more, hoping to get a 2150
SAT II's: taking math 1 & 2 along with US history in November.
GPA (unweighted 4.0 scale) 9th grade: 3.68, sophomore year 3.7, junior year 3.73
Weighted: 4.0
My school does not rank.
APs: ap euro: 4
ap comp: 4

Senior schedule: AP psychology, AP Calculus, AP gv't, AP biology, economics, creative writing, Spanish

I am in national honor society along with various different clubs. I volunteered at the local church for 4 years, and have had a hospital internship and two paid jobs. I have been involved with debate at my school for 4 years and I have placed at various competitions.

I am dedicated to art and am considering sending an art supplement if they will allow it.

I also am a good writer and I know I can write a good essay. I'm just worried my grades and GPA will fall a bit short.

What are my chances if I apply early decision?

ED: low match
regular: low reach
chance back!

SAT scores might down you a tad bud, 2200s are the sort of level needed for Ivys. UWGPA looks good, WGPA (out of 4.5?) leaves some to desire but solid. Good luck with the SATIIs (I don’t recommend taking math 1 and math 2 the same day though, its -sorta- a waste, but those are just my thoughts)

Nice, competitive classes. Hope them essays come out good (everyone says they can write a good essay, but here’s to you actually doing that). Hope recs come out nice too.

I feel like ECs might fall flat, but jobs are seriously good stuff for applications, reflects commitment and responsibility. Who knows, maybe it’ll push you over the rainbow.

Art suplement might help, as do actual interviews (dammit cornell, y u no interview engineering students?!), as you’re applying to one of few cornell schools that conduct interviews.

Final verdict is Reach to low reach/Reach for ED/RD. See if those SATII scores and supplements can give you that boost that you might need. Good luck with it all!

I’m also applying to cornell engineering ED, and some other places (rice, tufts, georgetown, etc), so if you feel like leaving your thoughts on my chance thread…I’d gladly appreciate it!

Cornell: Reach to mid reach

Low GPA is your big problem.

Have you tried the ACT?
You’d probably have a good chance of getting into ILR if you applied early and/or are from NY since ILR is one of the state schools.

I’m just happy that you actually included a school unlike 90% of people who apply to Cornell >_<.

Have you shown interest, i’d say mid reach. Good luck though

Yes I’m applying early decision and I’m from New York as well. And I tried a act diagnostic, but it’s too different from the sat. The sat is definitely the test for me.
