Hi everyone! I know that Cornell is a highly selective school, but it has always been my dream to get accepted. I also know that there's no simple yes or no, but I would like to know if any of you think I have a chance. Here is some stuff about me:

GPA from freshman and sophomore year: 4.01 unwtd, 4.11 wtd (96) - (out of a 4.3 scale, where A-'s = 3.7, A's = 4.0, A+'s = 4.3 - I had received 3 A-'s throughout the two years
SAT II's - Bio 730, will be taking chemistry, American history, and math I this coming spring.

Honors and AP classes scattered everywhere - Junior year is half honors, half AP. Trigonometry is the only regular class because I could not fit honors into my schedule with AP Bio, science research honors, and chemistry honors.

I will be taking the SAT January 26 and will take a few more over the spring - hoping for around a 2100 - feeling quite confident that I can achieve such, although I have looked at the ACT and I'm considering that I may do better on that one.

Extracurriculars:

-St. Patrick's Youth Group - huge advocator and participant - no positions are available, but partake in running and helping with the variety of events that we sponsor, such as dinners for senior citizens and the homeless, fundraisers for the poor/orphaned. We also traveled to Madrid Spain and Fatima, Portugal to celebrate World Youth Day 2012 with the pope.

Tennis (JV/Vars.) for these three years - will be trying varsity senior year).

-Science Research Honors Program - studying the mechanisms of axonal regeneration in spinal cord injury victims and those with certain neurodegenerating disorders - participating in a variety of science competitions around NY, such as WESEF, JSHS, etc.
-worked at the Burke Medical Research Institute on promoting the viability and proliferation of Schwann Cells in vitro.

-Science Olympiad - an anatomy and physiology participant in the Olympiad competitions.

-Amnesty International Co-president - we fight for those who have not been granted human rights around the world - have actually helped free quite a few people from foreign prisons and other sites.

-Will be in NHS next year and will most likely have some sort of position

-Pianist, but only won best pianist award in the state for our choir in 8th grade.. unfortunately did not continue playing in the high school because the high school choir already had a pianist for the group...

-DI Participant - won first place in regionals, semifinals, and 15th in the world

-Worked at Kmart and am currently working as a clerk for our church's rectory (kmart didn't work out because of the hours conflicting with youth group, church, and other after school programs).

-volunteer at the local nursing home - hang out with the elderly, play board games and have dinner with them sometimes :)

(Potential) advantages:
First generation student - my parents were born in Italy and then immigrated - never considered college, so it makes me really happy thinking about being the first person in my family wanting to pursue college and later on the medical field :]

ps - I might not make top decile in my school.. although it's a public school, my grade is just really competitive.. one of the most competitive since '95! - hopefully this won't hurt me that badly.. :/

Let me know what you think.. again I know that Cornell is extremely selective and there is no simple yes or no, but I really would appreciate any input that anyone is willing to offer :]

Thanks!
