cornell RD admission decisions

When do we hear our admission decisions? Is there one specific date for all the regular decision applicants? Do we find out online or by mail? I cant find this anywhere on their website...

You’ll find out on March 31st, around 5:00 pm online.

dies already

@Ravesky - how do you know?

I thought that all of the Ivies gave decisions on the same day? It’s odd how Columbia says March 31st, while Penn says April 1st. I’m confused. >.<

Hey Soadquake981-

I emailed Cornell a while ago about best times to visit the school ( to observe a class or something) and someone emailed me back saying:

“We strongly recommend applicants delay visits to campus until learning of the admissions decision (March 31 @ 5:00 p.m.). This allows students to plan a very fulfilling visit in April during Cornell Days when we have a lot of activities and options available.”

Yeah- I thought all ivies were supposed to release at the same time?

I think March 31 was last year’s date for all the ivies. I’m pretty sure this year it is Thursday, April 1st.

Hmm… that’s odd.

The Ivies agree not to release decisions BEFORE March 31. If Penn wants to release them AFTER March 31 - on April 1, as I think they’ve done in previous years, that’s ok. Cornell decisions will be on March 31.

If you applied to any of the rolling schools, kids began getting letters (snail mail, not email) on March 4, 5, and 6, post marked March 2. So in other words, its possible some rolling admissions letters will be mailed today… Interestingly it seemed you only got these if you were in, they never sent rejects letters before 31st. Oh, and apparently most were little letters.

They did release some data on applications - something to read while you wait.

^^ For a moment I thought they were celebrating having finally made all the decisions :P

@ Traveler - how do you know this? past threads?
I hope it’s true! I will be running home to check the mail if so in a few days!

yah, it was one of last years threads let me see if I can find it again…

What do you mean rolling admission…? Cornell has rolling admission?

here check this, all your questions will be answered. Also, some of these do appear to be likelys as well…

I know someone who applied to Cornell’s “rolling admission” schools in the past that heard back around this time of the year, not on the Ivy decision release day.

I think all the Cornell colleges besides CAS are sort of “rolling admission”. I applied to CALS for my second choice, so I was looking at this before.

ah. okay. I applied to CAS.

I believe CALS, ILR, and Hotel School are the only ones with rolling admissions.

Did anyone get a decision/likely yet?

Assuming letters were mailed Monday, judging from last year NY residents will start getting letters today, most tomorrow and people out west by Friday
