Cornell - RD Chances..

<p>My D got admitted via EA into UIUC for Chemical Engineering in the College of Liberal Arts and Science(LAS).. btw, we are living in NY tristate area.
What are the chances for Cornell - RD?</p>

<p>She is defered for GA Tech - Bio Medical Engineering.
Her weighted GPA - 3.75
Her SAT -2170 (M-780, CR-700, W-690. Subject SAT - MathII - 770 SAT subject Bio-730 US-History 740.
AP Bio - 5
AP Math - 5
AP US His - 4</p>

<p>She is into 4 AP,
National Honors Society
Authentic Science Research(bio/cancer/nano particles).
Attended a rigourous 6 weeks summer research program with a mentor,
Intel STS - selected as Entrant (awaiting results for semi finals / finals by Jan end)
Extra Curriculars -
Web Columnist
Winner of Teen Writing Competition twice.
Senior member of School orchestra, NHS member and into tutoring in the school and couple of other activities. </p>

<p>In the above situation, Can any experienced professional please advise the best course of action to select which University is better if we get.? What are the chances into Cornell or UC Berkeley..?

<p>It depends where that 3.75 places her within her graduating class. Wouldn’t surprise me if she got into Cornell (good test scores) but neither would a rejection. </p>

<p>I know this is a Cornell forum and I’m biased but Cornell over Berkeley out of state is a no brainer. In fact I know multiple California residents who were paying in-state tuition at Berkeley who transferred to Cornell due to the increasingly worse funding situation at the California state schools that were affecting availability of classes and overall education quality.</p>

<p>Thanks nd09. We got the news recentely that the research work she submitted to INtel STS got selected. We’ll await the semifinalist / finalist announcements in the coming weeks.<br>
Like to hear more on her chances with Cornell or Berkeley…</p>
