Cornell RD Class of 2016 Discussion Thread

Really wish I applied to ILR school. My “interviewer” or whatever she is called went there and loved it. Plus she is like a version of me 20 years in my future. Needless to say we talked for 3 hours. Anyways, anyone know when CAS starts sending ‘likely’s’? What are the statistics of people getting in, if you don’t mind me asking? Cornell is one of my top choices and I have a 2100; 3.7 uw gpa; 7 out of 523; tons of developed extracurriculars; 15 AP classes with strong grades on exams etc.

regular for CAS is about 12%. You should have a fair shot. And anyway if you really like it better at ILR more than cas you can easily transfer by the end of the first year from cas (cas is good with this sort of thing)

I am not sure if CAS routinely sends “likely” letters. CAS reveals admissions decisions on one date only, unless you are ED, and this year it is the 29th. You will receive e-mail instructions sent to you prior to this date. At a designated time (5:00 pm I believe) you will log in and click on a link to reveal your acceptance. The next day a Fed-Ex package will arrive with an acceptance package with a big red bow. Hang in there. You have excellent credentials. The main thing will be whether you demonstrated “fit” with your intended major and with CAS. You can transfer into ILR after the first semester if that is your preference. Best of luck to you on the 29th.

cormom15,

I am pretty sure decision date is the 28th because on the housing offices homepage it says that admitted freshman can sign up for housing starting on March 29 at 12:00am.

Opps! I am sorry! That was a typo! It is, in fact, the 28th!

hey everyone. i applied early decision (got deferred) but this was the site to check the status…not the application status thing. https://decision.applyyourself.com/?id=cornellu</a>

it says march 29th at 5 pm!

Sorry again! I just know how things worked last year and it appears to be the same procedure where you log in at a certain time on a certain date! Glad you posted the correct time and date for this year!

sorry about that, looks like cormom15 was correct!

No worries! Just goes to show how everyone is excited and anxious to find out! My daughter was in your shoes a year ago and right up until the final moments she was a wreck. I wish all of you the best.

Does Cornell send out likelies?

Have they sent them out already this year?

no they don’t. they rolled a few admissions letters for hotel and ilr students this monday. If you didn’t get one by now you’ll have to wait till march 29th, ufortunately, like me. D:
on a side note someone from hotel found out yesterday (?) odd.

in the past some LL have gone out in mid march to athletes, URM’s & women in engineering. theres no way to know if they’ll send them out this year or to which sub group of applicants.

So I tried to add something to my file in architecture…and the lady that I talked to said the decisions had already been made. Wow, I’m much more nervous now. >.<

The decision.applyyourself.com website indicates that an e-mail has been sent with PIN and password. I have not received any such e-mail. When did they send this ?

I don’t think Cornell has sent that to any RD Applicant…

I think that Cornell does send out likely letters. The last agree upon date to send them out is March 15th. Last year, Cornell did send out e-mails on that date.

Guys I got accepted into Cornell ILR 2016!!! Letter was sent on March 1st but I got it on the 5th. Has anyone else gotten accepted RD? Please share! God I hope I can pay for it… Wish you all the best! I got my letter in a regular envelope that was titled “Admissions and Enrollment.”

can any ED applicants who were deferred not access the decision page now??

Yeah i cant access mine anymore
Same! my letter was dated march 1, probably just took a bit to get here thats all heh
Hotel school  cant wait to meet you guys!

how were peoples SAT scores and such? just curious…

hey guys  I applied to CAS RD and checked my fin aid “to do” list a few days ago and it said that there were no more documents for me to submit. however, I checked again today and there are three more new documents, including cornell financial aid application certification and the deadline is June! so I was wondering is this a good sign or am I just overthinking it?
