Cornell RD Class of 2022 Applicant Thread

is it just me or you guys also haven’t received the Cornell portal link yet?
My friend applied on the same day as me and he has got the portal but not me. (29th January)
Should I email them?

@IlluminatiIsReal The Cornell portal is weird. It took me forever to get mine. I would wait a little bit longer.

Thanks, @kassh4. I guess I will wait a few more days before sending an email.

I applied to Cornell on Jan 2. Still haven’t received any acknowledgement email or application tracking portal login.
Should I contact them ?

People who applied earlier - how long did it take for those 2 to come ?

I applied on January 2 also and got the login two days later.

I applied on 29th December → still nothing lol

the office was closed from december 22nd - january 2nd so that could be part of the reason, too. on the application status it says that my common application is the only thing that they’ve received from me so far but it also says: “Due to our January 2nd deadline, documents sent electronically or by mail will take approximately 2-3 weeks to be received, processed, and then appear on your application status,” so I’m hoping that they just haven’t been processed yet.

@WashUH0peful you were offered an interview for dyson?? i thought dyson didn’t have interviews.

@halfdust neither did I. Any current/past Dyson students/applicants out there that were offered interviews?

@halfdust @WashUH0peful i think you guys are talking about the CAAAN contact. It’s not formally called an interview, but you can consider it as an alumni interview. Since only about half of the applicants get contacted by alumni for an interview, as you only get an interview if there is alumni in your area, it doesn’t count for too much in the admissions process, so don’t stress. My alumni interview wasn’t exactly the best it could’ve been, but I was still accepted ED a few weeks ago, so don’t sweat it!

Applied on Jan 2 and got email today to create portal login.

Also within the Common App, my counselors rec, school profile/transcript, LORs showed as downloaded in October when they were sent. Since they did not show up in the portal as received, I rechecked the Common App download dates and these are all updated to be 1/3/2018, so I know they have been received even though the portal says otherwise. Just an idea, if anyone needs additional reassurance until the portal is updated.

@yep210 thank you!

Anyone know when decisions have come out in previous years?

@kassh4 I think March 31st is traditionally RD “Ivy Day.”

According to Yale’s applicant portal, their decisions will come out March 28th, thus, I am assuming that will be Ivy Day

Decisions will come out March 29th according to the CAAN calender.

https://caaan.admissions.cornell.edu/CAAANCalendar.pdf

oh yea i forgot Ivy day was March 28. That’s when Penn is coming out too.

It’s the 28th. I was deferred from Harvard and the letter said 28.

wait so is it the 28th or 29th? Shouldn’t Cornell release decisions on the 28th since Harvard and Yale are both releasing their decisions on that day?

Has anyone else had issues with their Cornell application portal?
