Cornell RD Class of 2023 Discussion Thread

Can everyone see the welcome page? https://admit.cornell.edu/countdown-cornell/first-year-students

@AggieMom68 I can

hi. for those who applied for financial aid, did your finaid portal get updated? Mine shows 2020 and says “inquiry… denied”… does anyone else have this as well?

where do you see that? I have a link for Financtial aid from the decision portal and it says " No current to do item information found."

i logged in on this site: (and got the “inquiry… denied”)

https://finaid.cornell.edu/view-financial-aid-decision-0

but whenn i log in to the other site (i think this one is the correct one… it shows “no current to do item information found”… )

Has anyone who applied to ILR received a decision?

Got my acceptance letter to College of Engineering today!

Does Cornell send Diversity letter to all admitted URMs or just select few? (very very anxious right now…)

As @TheGuy1 mentioned earlier, LLs aren’t for everyone. Most people don’t get LLs. I was worried too but it will be fine. Don’t worry if all your friends have gotten them

@hannahannah Not all admitted URMs receive them.

@18butterflies I agree

Not all admits receive LL’s.

Same applied to Diversity letters. They are sent to a select few admitted URM. Most URM’s (admitted ofc) dont get one.

So my father didn’t submit his W2 document for financial aid because he doesn’t work in the US, so he doesn’t have one. However, it shows on the ApplicantID thing that it’s missing and I’m worried if that will make them disregard me from financial aid. We already sent them an email explaining it all. Did anyone go through this before?

@nadagehad01 As long as there’s a valid legal explanation sent by one party (in your case, your family) and appropriately described, you should be fine and the finaidcom will understand it. They will ex/implicitly waive the appropriate doc.

@TheGuy1 ok great ? thank you for your reply!

Do all accepted students into CAS get an LL? We are still waiting on my son for CAS. If he was deferred from ED, and now we are waiting for RD. If he hasn’t received an LL, does that mean that he is not accepted .

@robocop21 absolutely not, LL is only given to a select few, CAS is a large class. Anxiety is expected during the home stretch, hang in there!

ppl who applied for financial aid, sign into this link: https://finaid.cornell.edu/view-financial-aid-decision-0.

does it say “inquiry access denied”? this could be a sign of rejection

@coniston1 No, it just means that you’re not allowed to see it yet because it hasn’t released

I agree with @jdecker9 Theres no suck thing a college would do beforehand

Its not a rejection. My friend got a diversity letter and his says this as well.
