@matthewlutchko I agree.
Other than diversity letter for about 1% of admits and LL’s for 5-10% of admits (the ppl may receive both) there no other way to confirm acceptance before Ivy Day for Ivy leagues.

Have CAS decisions been released?
I am having issues logging in to my status portal and have contacted them, otherwise I’d check myself.
@bygbyrd Official decisions will be released beginning at 7 pm est on March 28. A select few of the applicants have received likely letters and diversity hosting invites, as well as some of the Hotel school applicants I think, but they are the only ones who have been told they will be admitted.
@NMParent000079 Thank You!
Anyone from Asian pool received LL from COE?
I am Asian male applied to COE ED, got deferred to RD.
GPA: 4.00/4.42 (UW/W), ACT-36, SAT2 Math - 800, SAT2 Physics - 800, good EC.
Cornell is my dream school and I dont have good feel given I have been deferred.
Do you think AO know I have applied to ED and cut me some slack if I am on boarderline ?
I wish to share my understanding of the financial aid application based on my experience for my daughter who was admitted to the Class of 2021. Cornell has a need-blind policy for US applicants, which means that the admission committee is not looking for financial aid documents. According to the Cornell website “Once admitted, our Financial Aid Office closely reviews your family’s unique financial situation to ensure that aid is distributed equitably.” At this stage, do not be worried about missing financial aid documents because after the Ivy Day, every admitted applicant seeking financial aid has enough time and Cornell will give instruction on how to submit the main documents through IDOC of the College Board. Every family is unique and there is a form to be submitted that applies to a specific case. The document will be uploaded to IDOC. The admitted student seeking financial aid will receive instruction from Cornell how to submit. There will be a link and Cornell will give a pin number. Again, those applicants who have been asked by the Financial Aid for documents must be very positive because your application is already being reviewed by the Financial Aid. I believe it has something to do with the awarding of scholarship as they are distributing it equitably to qualified students. According to the website, the Financial Aid reviews the applicant “once admitted.” Just relax and wait for the Ivy Day because even those who did not receive the LL and Diversity Letter have still the chance to be admitted. This is the link regarding financial aid. https://finaid.cornell.edu/apply-for-aid
@express2020 Very interesting assertion and I totally agree with your points.
I received an email in the middle of February with the subject line “Cornell University Financial Aid Request” that asked for additional documents, and I was wondering if that was what you meant by the possibility that my application is being viewed as “very positive.”
I agree with @express2020
thanks for comprehensively clarifying it.
THis applies for all top schools(need-blind for domestics) just so you know. THe policies are structured slightly differently, but mean the same.
Hi does anyone here apply to Cornell CS major?
Just received an invite to Diversity hosting today! I saw the skinny envelope and though Cornell had decided to crush my hopes and dreams two weeks early but I was very wrong. I am a happy camper.
diversity letter received
@HopefulPanda2019 @Gufusus so did neither of you receive notification of the diversity letter through email last week? Is there a chance I might still receive one? Or did the physical copy of the email just arrive to your house?
The email and letter sent on 3/15. I got a paper letter two days ago.
@yeehaw23 I never received an email (which was very weird) so maybe you still have hope?
Thank you both @Gufusus @HopefulPanda2019
And from what I understand they’re only sending LL and diversity letters to those in engineering or hotel right? Because I haven’t seen anything for CALS
@yeehaw23 I received a diversity hosting letter for government I believe, although it did not yet specify what major I got into.
My daughter got a diversity letter and she is not in engineering or hotel.
@JJones31 @LABayou but you both received the email before getting the physical copy in the mail, correct?
@yeehaw23 I neither applied to engineering/hotel, nor got an email. I didn’t even know about diversity hosting until I received the letter via snail mail.
Weighing in here, I received a diversity hosting email last Friday morning, the 15th, and a mailed letter received Monday, the 18th. College of Arts & Sciences.
