No sure if this was already posted, but the Cornell Sun has a breakdown of some of this years numbers:
Son got rejected. Taking it pretty well, actually. Says he will keep Cornell in mind for law school.
My portal still has NOTHING!! Help
@orangebutt12 make sure you follow the link they emailed you today, not the actual application status check portal. I made that mistake too.
@orangebutt12 what are you seeing
@NMParent000079 glad to hear. DD is planning to go to law school, too. I dont know that my heart can take the stress of that process. Lol. Good luck to your son!
I still haven’t received an email…
@catova check spam or promotions tabs
@BigApple2018 I did, and still nothing. Do you think that the fact I got a diversity hosting likely letter has something to do with it?
@catova no you should have received an e-mail with the access link even with the Diversity
?
@BigApple2018 @orangebutt12 ok I just figured it out. This morning Cornell sent out an email that was like “decisions will be released today, blah blah”, but at the end of the email they provide a link and a pin to view your admission decision. It’s not on the applicant portal.
S19 got his official admission after his LL two weeks ago. Has anyone admitted been able to see financial aid award at admit.cornell.edu? Cannot see any FA.
Rejected. 1480 SAT, 3.9 GPA, good ECs, good common app essay, sub-par application essay
ACCEPTED!!! I’m so shook right now.
1530 SAT, 710 World History, 760 Bio E (and no math II!)
I applied to CALS as a Biometry & Statistics major
@rocbud My son has identical stats and also got rejected. Competition was brutal this year, so many strong applicants.
@banaynay Congrats!! Did you see anything like this on your letter: "In your official letter of admission, you will note that your acceptance is conditional based on certain requirements that you will need to fulfill before you matriculate. "
S got waitlisted. What does it mean? If he accepts the waitlist, does it mean he won’t find out until the fall or late summer?
@collegemomjam @Fall2019App
SAT I: 1520 (E/W: 720, M: 800)
SAT II: 800 Biology M, 800 Math II
UW GPA: 96.37/100.00
I have okay stats, but I honestly think that what got me over the edge were my application essays. Coming from a HS where my 1520 SAT is “average” (no jokes), my friends were surprised I didn’t attempt to retake the test. However, I am a strong, strong believer that stats are not everything, and I spent days, sometimes weeks, crafting my essay just for Cornell (my top choice along with USC).
ACCEPTED TO HUMAN ECOLOGY!!
34 ACT
800m2, 800 Chem
Asian male
Good ECs, Good essay
Holy crap how did I just get in? I’m super stoked.
