My S is FYSA SHA too. He thinks he’s accepting but trying to figure out what to do for fall semester before he commits. Thinking of taking classes abroad for credits but SHA has very specific classes. Not easy to find. Ideas?
Because they want to ignore the obvious or be politically correct everyone will tell you it’s because they look at the whole person but you know why
@Hopeful271 - I think my son got one. Was accepted Fall 2019. Engineering. Said he got what looked like a LL letter. What is Diversity Hosting?
@ilikewiki So many of the results this year are mind-boggling. Where else did your S apply? Hopefully, he has several excellent choices to pick from or perhaps will clear WL if you chose to pursue.
I got my TO to ILR on march 29th if that helps
@mystery2019 Financial aid came out on 3/29. Try this link.
@TheGuy1 any luck?
@robocop21 Annoyed at Cornell as well. My son’s both grand parents and two uncles went there. He is the top 1 with 4.80 GPA at his high school with 300 graduates, state youth orchestra cellist, 1590 SAT, 36 ACT, 5 for all 5 APs taken, 800 Math II, 760 Chem. A kid at his high school with less EC was accepted for ED. That might hurt him. Agree with you, very disappointing… Congrats to all who got in!
Hi just curious … what were your stats for ILR … what state are you from and how did you show “fit” with the program thanks
@archaea he wasn’t even waitlisted? And what was his major, as in what school did he apply to?
@Timin8272 He is waitlisted to Engineering of CS. But it’s bummer, he decided not to wait.
@lostbuthopeful any word on transfer options? is there a fb page open on it?
@archaea - my older daughter was WL years ago. When her GC called adcom to find out why. The GC was told that they thought my older D would have other options, so they admitted other students (from her school) instead. It may be the case with your son. D1 did get off the WL after submitting additional information. Her GC told Cornell that D1 would attend if admitted.
I am a bit puzzled by @robocop21’s case.
@LCBwhy agree wholeheartedly. students who ED obviously demonstrate interest in the school. no rhyme or reason for rejection.
Accepted into ILR! I found out early though through an invitation to their Diversity Hosting!
Just look at the common data set to see men applied vs women who applied then look at men admitted vs women admitted. Then look at urms this year as well. You son is probably paying for Cornell’s sins of the past. Instead of Cornell paying you are paying.
@Cornellian2000
I would be interested in joining the group that got TO for ILR!
dumb question, but what does TO stand for?
@margaretwoodburn it’s transfer option
Hi , my daughter got TO for ILR, would love to get in a group with others.
