Cornell RD Class of 2025

You need the middle name as well

how do we know they are “100% rejected”

Full name need to be exact Match

I think this is all the evidence we need. 25 likes, no emojis.

If you’re a student you should have APP21-XYZ123, i.e. name initials and numbers after APP21-

your name won’t show if you don’t put a capital first letter btw

i used full names, first, middle, and last names spelled correctly for myself, my sister who is a current student, and my friend who applied with me and the only ones with APP21-####### was me and my sister, not my friend

(my sister had APP19 instead of 21 because she applied in the 2019 applicant pool)

Once you are student it changes to just initials### example FB123 there won’t be APP#
FB123 is the NetID permanent one

It will show both if you use the full name. I looked up for a student enrolled in 2020. it shows APP20-XYZ123 as well as another row with XYZ123. Also you can search by first name only. However if you have a common first name like “John” it shows only first 300 entries then you’ll need the exact whole name as in your common app.

yes i know, my sister had two items come up for her name, one was APP19-####### and the other was her student ID which is first initial, middle initial, last initial###, similar to your example FB123

wait so what does this all mean

im not exactly sure. this could all mean nothing, im just saying that it was strange that my friend who applied RD didn’t have an APP21-####### when i searched her full name yet i did

I have a bunch of friends who are currently at Cornell, and I tried searching up their names. Some of their names showed up two results (both APP20-XYZ123 and XYZ123), and some of them only showed up XYZ123 (no APP20), I wonder if it’s by college? Those who had both are all from Human Ecology, and others are from CAS I believe.

Hi guys
What date and time do Cornell’s decisions come out?
(I’m sorry if this was asked several times)

7 pm EST/ 4 pm PST

I have 2 matches lol
APP20 - ######
APP21 - #######
Either this could be because I applied ED and was deferred or someone with the same name as mine applied last year lol.

Does anyone only have APP20?

Yep, I do and I think that’s cause I applied ED

I can’t believe I am saying this, but for the first time, I think you portal astrologers may really be on to something. But we need data. For example, I know people at Cornell now who do not have an APP##### showing up but only a Cornell NetID (initials followed by numbers). I also know people there now who have both. (I wonder if this is difference is explained by school or by whether applied for financial aid–I suspect the latter based on the small data set I have).

Note, try this even if you did not apply for financial aid.

To get to the info, log into Financial Aid Portal. Check Application Status | Financial Aid

Go to Main Menu–My System Profile

In the section Alternative User ID hit the magnifying glass for search and a box pops up.

in the Search by drop down choose Description

In the box next to begins with, type in your exact full name including middle name and pay attention to case–it matters

Hit lookup

If nothing comes up, try advanced search and search by your last name if it is not especially common (realizing they only pull the first 300 matches).

Once you have done this, respond so we can figure out what, if anything, it all means:

  1. What your search showed–you might find nothing, you might find more than one–APP20, APP21, Initials followed by numbers (Cornell NetID), etc. Use the format APP20##### to show the number of digits after APP or initials for anything you find for your name. No identifying info please!

  2. School applied to (Engineering, CALS, SHA, CAS, Architecture, SC Johnson, HE, ILR)

  3. Whether you applied for financial aid (the APP reference may be referring to financial aid application and not Cornell admissions applications–we don’t know which is why we need data!)

  4. Whether you ever enrolled in Cornell before (eg summer or winter classes). (You are assigned a Cornell NetID if you attend one of these programs)

You can do this for your friends too. If you don’t know middle name you would need to use advanced search.

Good luck everyone!

I did not apply for financial aid, I am international, Applied CAS, Applied RD.
When I do exactly what you described, I still can find myself and I have APP21 - #######
