Cornell RD Decisions- Class of 2011

ILR GT representing here

Waitlisted!
Do i have preety good chance of getting in? does anyone know the stat?

i think a lot of ppl who dont get in on the waitlist get GT status. So if you can wait a year for Cornell that would be kool...

waitlisted.

personally, i don't understand the whole waitlist process. it seems like we are the "back up" kids in case the ones already accepted decide not to go. all a waitlist does is delay an actual decision by two months. as if our nerves weren't frayed enough the first time around.

i just wish i could get inside the head of a college admissions committee. i don't really understand how certain applicants are picked over others and why they decided not to reject me and not to accept me after looking at my application. sooooo frustrating!

If you really want a shot at getting accepted from the waitlist, you'd have to probably send a letter expressing your continued interest and to update your profile (recent awards or stuff you've been doing). But don't get your hopes up because a lot of people don't get accepted from the waitlist.

Decision: ACCEPTED CAS

ACCEPTED!

congrats guys

Waitlisted.

OMG!! ACCEPTED! I JUST REALIZED I NEVER EVEN VISITED CORNELL!
I have to visit. I saw the visit days for accepted students is 4/5-4/16. Anyone get any further details!

OMG!!! I WON'T BE ABLE TO SLEEP ALL NIGHT I'M SO EXCITED

Ahhhhhhhh waitlistees....what are we to do?

I really , really , really love cornell....(sigh)....

Did anyone get rejected from ILR without GT status?? thanks!

Accepted...College of Arts and Sciences. What a break from my other schools tonight. Rejected form my top two choices Penn and Princeton. So far 1-3 for Ivies.

Accepted CAS!
Well knew it cos i got a likely, but still yaay!
anyway, small consolation for a really heavy deathtoll in the admissions battle-field

EnGINEERING ACCEPTED OMFG

I LIKE CANNOT FREAKING BELIEVE IT!!!!!

[li] Why you think you were accepted/deferred/denied: Stats are my friend.[/ul]Other Factors: [/li]General Comments/Congratulations/Venting/Commiserations,etc: I technically found out a month ago, but was too lazy to post then. That reminds me... I totally haven't started homework yet (who can today?). But Cornell was the first "big" school I got into, so it will always have a special place in my heart :)

Rejected.

Oops.

I re-read my "Why Cornell" essay today. Wrote it an hour before the deadline. That's probably why I was rejected. It was a really shoddy essay. Otherwise, I would've gotten in no prob.

Here's a quicky review:

Program: CALS - Applied Economics & Management
Gender: Female
Eth: Asian (boo...they have too many I guess)
SAT: 2170
SATII: All 600s, 1 770 in Chinese
GPA: 3.8 UW
Rank: 66 out of 400+ UW
But I take the hardest classes so if weighted both GPA and rank would have risen dramatically.
Extra-Currics:
-Editor of magazine
-Captain of debate team
-Founded a Chinese language & dance school. Currently has 200+ students in 2 locations.
-Manager & principal dancer for a dance group.
-1400+ community service hours
-Regional treasurer for Key Club
-Taking Arabic lessons
-Fluent in Chinese---lots of Chinese awards & stuff

Still, I can't deny I wasn't shocked. But it's all good :). I got into Dartmouth.
