I'm sure you all have heard many times (like me) that Cornell views SAT scores out of 1600. I have read that they ignore the writing completely and just add your critical reading and math score to determine it but I have also read that they average the CR and Writing, then add the average to your math score. Do they regard the writing by averaging or is it completely ignored? Or perhaps it is ignored in the actual score but still considered slightly? Any knowledge on this subject would be great! Thanks.

Thank you csdad! However, I have read a few different theories so I was wondering if anyone has ever found anything on their website or a document that states it.

I can’t find anything addressing it on the admissions web page. I do know that during the info session we attended (fall 2009) for Human Ecology, they said they only looked at CR + M.

The reasoning is that they say the writing portion scores are “inconsistent” and since it’s relatively new they do not have have too much data for it.
