Does anyone know for a fact if Cornell considers or disregards the Writing section in the admission's process? I got a high CR+M score, but a very low Writing score.

I think that they do look at it since it does appear on your status page along with your math and reading score, but only very lightly… which sucks cause i got an 800 on writing…

My S got a 590 on writing, so we were thankful they didn’t count it. Of course, they saw it, which we worried about! Good thing he’s in engineering!

A senior adissions offier explicitly told me that they DO NOT consider the writing score when looking at applications… Which sucks because my W scores is about 40 point higher than my CR score…

if writing does matter, i’m assuming that 750 CR and 750 M is okay… with a 580 in W…:(

they will see it but discount it for most science/math fields
for everyone else they ‘officially’ say they dont count it
but its hard to completely disregard something they see on your
application info.

I’m in a similar boat 1530/1600 2170/2410
640 writing killed me
