Hi guys,

I'm thinking of applying to Cornell's School of Arts and Sciences and majoring in Biology. I'm really confused about whether Cornell looks at a 1600 scale or a 2400 scale for the SAT. My 1600 scale is a 1480 (Math 800, CR 680) which isn't as impressive as my 2280 on the 2400 scale (Writing 800). Which score would be looked at? Also, if I were to take it again, would Cornell look at 1 test or a superscore?

Thanks in advance.

As far as I know, they only look at CR+M score. But you really don’t have much to worry about, seeing as your 1480 is very impressive!

Thanks a lot kitts95! That’s very reassuring. Any other input guys?

Bump. 10 characters.

When I applied, Cornell didn’t look at writing at all. You could have gotten a 200. It wouldn’t have mattered. My guess is the policy hasn’t changed. Also, don’t take the SAT again. It’s a waste of time/money (unless you have a lot of both…). Cornell isn’t going to base their admissions decision on 50-100 points on one section of a horrible universal exam. They are going to value your GPA and ECs, etc. more, especially if either is really good.
