People, Could you please tell me what sets cornell apart from other schools? What's special in it that, for example, University of Chicago doesn't have? I want to transfer there, because I need to be closer to east coast and I hope to get a better finaid package, but these reasons aren't quite as good to write about. What's special about it?

Cornell is pretty much…amazing!!! lol there are so many different highly acclaimed fields of study at Cornell, which school were you thinking of? Otherwise, Cornell has a very good national reputation, outstanding opportunities in terms of career choices, great food (lol)…for example, ILR is one of only a couple programs of its kind! What is great about Cornell is the stats when it comes to recruiting and grad schools! also, one thing I personally love is the diversity of the student body…and many many other reasons that make Cornell pretty special! lol

Rural Setting.... I've grown up in Sub Urban regions my whole life, I want to escape to somewhere like Cornell (only downside is less internship opportunities I guess) . Like Acerbic said, I hear it has excellent food.

Hello, aaaaa. I'm a Cornell alum and my two kids both go there. Cornell has the most beautiful campus imaginable, bar none. It is a manageable-sized university that manages to be excellent in a vast number of diverse fields, from agriculture to hotel to English to engineering . . . While one could certainly debate the merits of other universities by comparing one of their departments to the same dept. at Cornell, I think it is very hard to come up with another academic institution whose breadth AND quality compares to Cornell.

The Hockey team. The gorges, the variety of courses. The people. The food.

the food is crazy!!!

also, the history, location, and the people.
