Hey everyone! I'm currently enrolled in SUNY Binghamton, but Cornell is my dream school. Unfortunately I did not get in.
Brief stats:
ACT: 29
SAT: reading 710, writing 690, math 580 (yeah there low, I'm aware)
President of largest club at my school, officer position in another club
4 years of volunteer work with 3 different organization
Recommendation from principal
3.84 GPA
5s on all my APs
Solid essays

So in order to transfer to Cornell, a minumim of 12 credits is needed. I spoke to the admissions office today, and if I complete 12 credits in my first semester, (which is on the low end, no?) Then I can transfer for the spring of my freshman year. The woman on the phone said it was uncommon, but that it was allowed. She also said that given the fact that I would have the bare minimum of credits completed, (or in the process of completion) I am a less competitive applicant than someone with more credits, based on credits alone.

So let's say, I rock my first semester at Bing and apply as a spring transfer. What do you guys think? She also said if I don't get in for the spring, I can apply for the fall no problem.

I would be applying to CALS as a communication major, which is in the SUNY system which will help my chances, yes? And is less competitive than the other schools (Transfer acceptance is around 51%)

I don't know what advice I'm actually looking for, but any would be appreciated c:
