cornell......such a sad place??!?!

well you're from long island, and the route you probably take to get here is prob. like all back-road country stuff. At least that's what it was when i went to providence.

take a trip up north, you'll see how we're not isolated!

Our trip here was pretty much just highways and route something or other that leads into Ithaca...I like being isolated, for now, it's a nice change. I love procrastinating on cc.

haha. that's kinda bad if u have finals tomorrow. GO STUDY!!! (not trying to be a b**** or anything)

I have a final TODAY haha.

When people say ithaca is isolated, they are entirely correct. But it's not like being isolated in a small white padded room. More like being isolated in an amusement park. There's plenty to do HERE in ithaca between classes and cornell and your friends and the regular amenities of your average town like malls and movie theaters. It's that when you leave the nearest things are corning (where I went to see a bigscreen showing of this years Warren Miller Film Tour) and Syracuse (where I saw some friends) and that there's nothing else in between or nearby for miles.

So yeah, it's not boring here, it's just out there.

Math final?

it'll be a big change from Los angeles

it will be. This is a place where you can relax on the lake, take a bike ride deep into the mountains, and study for hours and hours on end. :) It's quite the experience.

how far away from montreal is ithaca? would trips to montreal be possibilities for weekend getaways?

Yeah, girls, not so great. Weather, likewise, but I am from MN, so its just like home. Nightlife, well, I am not a partier, so I really don't care. Food, pretty good. All in all, those grades are fair.

PS. BOO for math finals

damn...cornell might not be for me then. but i can't imagine withdrawing. cornell was my #1 choice for a long time. I even visted before and the campus was beautiful.

you know actually i strongly disagree with the local atmosphere ranking...I don't see anything wrong with it. Did CP list any specific complaints?

math final in 2.25 hours...

Well, here's my personal opinion, after living here for one semester:

Girls = Not the most attractive group on the whole, but there are worse things.

Nightlife = Pretty damn good IMO.

Weather = Horrible, and I love it that way! Snow is great.

Those are my two cents.

don't you guys get annoyed with having to always put on huge jackets and huge pants? don't u miss wearing shorts anytime of the day anytime of the year?

See... I'm excited about possibly going to Cornell because.. honestly I think I'm a decently attractive girl, so I'll be in the minority! So that sounds really conceited I guess but hey I don't think anyone really cares.

pinkdillo, that's worries me a lot. (i'm a guy)

plz don't get your head inflated yet

we dont wear huge pants. Yes, snow pants do exist, but they're for skiing, snowboarding, any other prolonged winter activity. Heavy coats aren't exactly heavy anymore. I'm content with wearing my normal daily outfit plus a North Face fleece, a hat, and gloves. That's it.

It doesn't worry me. You and your attractive friends should all apply so that Cornell won't be disproportionately unattractive.

if i get in i'll be the one in the snow pants. and u guys will point and be like "yup, that's the chick from the sunny cali."

awww dont be a "donkey" evanescenteuphoria, pinkdillo is bein optimistic! no harm in that. plus, im sure you get used to it at cornell, and a texas beaut would be a breath of fresh air! =p

Haha.. I was just having a bit of fun. Everyone knows Texas girls don't look like trolls.
