Cornell suicide bridge?

Can you tell me anything about Cornell's suicide bridge?

My whole "thing" is that if a college is SO rigorous in academics, etc that they have their own suicide bridge, why would I want to torture myself into going there?

[Does 6 deaths in 6 months make Cornell ‘suicide school’? - USATODAY.com](http://www.usatoday.com/news/education/2010-03-16-IHE-cornell-suicides-16_ST_N.htm)

I think it’s more important to surround yourself with a balance of rigor and positivity. Life isn’t about working yourself to the bone.

From another article:
“Cornell had no suicides from 2005 to 2008, according to Marchell. And the school has consistently fallen within or below the national average, said Karen Carr, assistant dean of students at Cornell.”

As for rigor, it is an academically demanding school, so are the others at that level. Its not like you can pass up the academic demands at Cornell, and then be putting all day on the golf course at MIT, Hopkins, et al. The schools that have high academic reputations have them for a reason. There is no free lunch.

If they were inviting them previously, they won’t be anymore, in response to the recent cluster the university has now fenced them up.

Wish I could say that this means there will no longer be any suicides.
