Yeah, for the RABS program I have heard it’s not rolling admission, but is it competitive? Anybody with experience?

Yes…all programs are rolling admission with the exception of RABS and Vetmed…
The food is really good!! There is sooo much to choose from, especially in Apppel Commons…(although it seemed to me that the 2nd round of 3 weekers had more food options than the first round)
About the uncompetative thing, im not really sure, but everyone i knew there were extremely intelligent people so i wouldnt assume that pretty much everyone gets in.

Does anyone here know anything about what to expect in the Freedom and Justice program?

^My roommate and another friend were in the Freedom and Justice program. They had a lots of reading, but I think they both enjoyed the class.

The food is SO GOOD! Ice Cream=Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner (jk…but seriously, be prepared to eat a lot of ice cream)
My fav was the waffle machine for breakfast - make your own waffles, add ice cream, whipped cream, and strawberries! YUM!
Lunch for me was at Trillium. It’s bascially a food court with everything from Italian to hamburgers to Chinese food! Yum Yum!

I don’t think the actual admissions is that competitive for programs. Of course, they want to make sure you will not fail or do poorly in your class, so good academics are necessary. It is nowhere near as competitive as it is to get into Cornell.

i want to apply to cornell for an art related major
do you know if taking a 3-week art as an experience summer course and then getting a recommendation letter from the prof will help boost my chances of getting in?
i heard from someone very reliable that the key to getting into cornell is to get a recommendation letter from a prof during the pre colleg program. i just want to verify the validity of that statement

Hi,
I got accepted into the hotel management class this year and I just wanted to know how it was? I’m kind of worried that it will be really stressful or the workload will be really heavy. What were some of your experiences in this class?

@ hahahk77 - I attended the hotel program and had an AMAZING time! The workload can seem like a lot at times. Classes are from 8:30 to 3:30 (1 hour for lunch) and then required office hours from 7:00-9:00. There is a lot of group work, so be prepared for that. You write a few reports and give one presentation. Even though this may seem like a lot, it is SO MUCH FUN! If you aren’t sure if you want to go into the hospitality industry, this class will give you some great background that can guide you in your decision. I learned so much, had a great time, and made some amazing friends from all over the country (and world!!!). PM me if you have any other specific hotel questions!

I also just got accepted at the Hotel School! I am so excited!

congrats clinegirl!!!
still waiting on decisions for me :(

Hi…I am accepted for Business World and applied for fianancial aid. But they sent me a letter that they cannot give me any financial aid.

Clinegirl…how did you appeal and how much they gave you, if you dont mind telling me.
Thanks

How many people apply to RABs? Do the majority of people get in? It doesn’t seem too competetive.
For Anyone who did attend RABs how is the program?

do our parents have to come with us to sign in? or can we go by ourselves and sign in by ourselves?

I just got accepted into the class I wanted, Democracy and Its Discontents, so I am really psyched!
Anybody have any information about it?

TheFed- im not sure if RABS is super competative, but i think its more competative than the other programs…i also dont think that there a lot because when i was up there i barely had seen or met any RABS people at all…i beleive a small number is chosen (or at least smaller than the other programs)
cornell2016- no your parents dont have to be there when you sign in, because there will be many students there who had to come by plane on there own, so its ok if your by
yourself.
Ithacakid- congratsss but sorry, i dont really know much about the democracy and its discontents courseeee

So if the deadline is in April, would it behoove a person to apply earlier? :/

i would definitely apply early if i were you, but really you don’t have to…(but if you want financial aid apply early for sure)

I think that it helped me to apply early, as they required additional information before passing judgment, and I believe that time would’ve been a factor if I had waited for the 11th hour.
Regardless of that, it’s common sense to apply early, as admissions are rolling and slots are limited. If they can only accept 50 kids, and 50 well-qualified applicants apply before you, then you’re SOL

Thanks for your opinions! I’ll get started on that essay then :]

Hi Aminata7

Were you able to get the financial aid you expected. When I applied, I stated that I need financial aid…they accepted me and then they sent me a letter that they are review my financial aid application and then they sent another letter that they cannot give me any aid. I really want to go but wihout aid its not going to happen.

hey, nickis-- nope i wasnt able to recieve any aid at all :-[ i dont understand why summer college was so stingy with financial aid…there were a couple of people who had to come up with ideas to raise the money themselves…if thats possible, i would definately recommend it because i think its totally worth it :)

I know admissions is rolling, but how long does it take for them to accept/reject you? And after that, how long do you have to pay tuition? I’m applying to Cornell as a back-up summer plan, and I want to make sure I time it correctly in case I get into SSP.
