Anyone go to the Cornell Summer Program for like the business management ( hospitality management ) program?

i am! (haha if i get accepted. hey i havent even APPLIED yet. so who knows.)

Just out of curiosity...

Does going affect chances of admission?

shows that you did something worthwhile during the summer. may show some interest, but not a huge factor in admissions.

I went to the Program. Leadership Through Managerial Communication.

Yes is does affect your chances on admissions.

it may affect your chances a little bit but one of my really good friends went and applied ED to CoE and got rejected. honestly i thought she was going to get in, so it just goes to show you how everything is just chance.

I was accepted last summer but opted to attend another summer program (at Brown). Is there anywhere to indicate this on the app ?

Yea, that'll really help your application..."I got into a competitive summer program at your school but then decided that I would rather go to a program at your rival school instead. Will you accept me?"

well summer college is an awesome experience...most of the kids there are extremely bright and its not like theyre totally focused on studying all the time which is what makes it enjoyable... of course you always get your slacker/druggies but for some odd reason everyone there seemed to be extremely intelligent. it was an excellent expereicne...you should most definetely go there

Well the reason I asked is because there was a spot on the app that said, did you apply/get accepted to Cornell or a Cornell Summer Program... So I didn't know if I should mark "yes" even though I didn't attend.

generally speaking, how competitive is it to get admitted to the summer program? I am interested in applying next year, but my grades ..(ouch)

If I remember correctly (I appled last year), about 50% are admitted? I had to write three or four essays for it, so do well on that and I'm sure it'll help.

i hope to get accepted and see you all there this summer!
