cornell transfer experience

Hi Guys,

Last year I received a Transfer Option/Guaranteed Transfer to the ILR School at Cornell. Thus, I went to Fordham University for my freshman year in order to save money because I received full scholarship. I will be transferring to Cornell this year.

I was just wondering if anyone who is a transfer student at Cornell, or graduated as a transfer student could just describe his or her experience as a transfer student at Cornell for me? Ever since the transfer center program ended, I have been worried about the social aspect of transferring to Cornell. I am not into greek life and have no plans to join a fraternity. How is the social life for transfers who are not into greek life? I am not too worried about academics but the social life situation is really making me apprehensive about next year.

I know that west campus is the best housing for transfers, but how is the social situation for transfers who are put in schuyler or cascadilla or the other off campus upperclass/transfer housing? I feel like kids in those dorms will be really isolated, as they don't know anyone on campus and are far off from campus? Moreoever, how is the social life for transfers in west campus?

I would really appreciate any information. Thank you!
