Cornell Transfer Fall 2021

Hey, was this email sent by finaid@cornell.edu??

It was sent by cornell-notify@support.mail.cornell.edu

I think its a good sign tho, if you havent recieved your official acceptance letter yet!

what would my financial aid status switch to on Friday or Monday?

I applied March 15th for Dyson, but I haven’t received any communication from Cornell besides the initial email that they got my application. Should I be worried?

I would not bet on financial aid stuff being an indicator. Admissions and financial do not directly communicate from what I know. Admissions does not know if you are applying for financial aid, since they are need blind. I think they prep things for everyone, but I could be wrong about that. I would wait for your actual decision

Yea, I’m on there and found a (hopeful) roommate there, but it is still relatively dead I think. Now just looking to meet even more people to chill and hang out with before semester starts.

also made a small lil discord Discord for my fellow transfers. if any1 is interested in joining, feel free to. not many people there yet but hopefully it’ll grow

I agree with this! I hate to be that person but I went through the same thing and ended up getting rejected last week. Your case could be different so who knows! But I would keep my hopes a bit low just incase :)) good luck!!

How long did it take people to get which classes transfer?

So here is what I learned in my convo with Finaid. If you have an extenuating circumstance like job loss, and you wrote about it in the CSS profile, don’t expect any special plan. You have to take the step of filing an appeal and attaching your current tax return showing you didn’t get a W2. Then maybe they’ll consider it. And they are quoting 120 days to review appeals, so you’ll likely have to pay what they initially charged you in the initial award in August. Not sure what happens then for semester 2. :rage:

I cant afford to even pay even if i know i will get a refund. This is so sad

Maybe each situation is different. I can’t believe an appeal would take 120 days.

That’s weird tbh! I got mine within like a week or two

anyone else still haven’t received a decision letter yet

me.

me, still waiting

I applied for Dyson on 3/15 as well and although I’ve spoken to someone once or twice, I haven’t heard anything since late march or early-mid April. Still haven’t received a decision yet
