No literally. My financial aid checklist and portal disables every two seconds and I keep checking to see if my Transfer Transcript goes to “Ordered.” I am losing it, I have three decisions coming out in the next week.

It’s possible we won’t hear anything even though apps are complete for up to 6 weeks. Tuesday’s are going to require restraint for awhile.

Hey do you know if CSS profile is required before admissions decisions are out? I’m an independent student and do not have the necessary information such as my parents info to complete the CSS profile. Contacted the financial aids office and I’m in the process of filling out a form but the documents required won’t be coming anytime soon (covid + government paperwork).

Basically all I’m asking is
could I get rejected because I didn’t submit my CSS Profile (fafsa is submitted).

Thank you good sir.

Yes, you do need to submit all of your financial aid documents in a timely manner in order to get a financial aid award letter at the time of your admission, if you are admitted. Any lack of financial documentation will not affect any admissions outcomes.

So no my financial information has nothing to do with admissions? Am I getting that right?

I believe so. I’m in the same boat as you,

I’ve been actively trying to get all my to-do list items done but I don’t have any access to one of my parent’s paperwork and my other parent can’t seem to locate their tax information for me. It’s a struggle, but I’m gonna call their office today to see what I can do.

Either way, good luck! Hopefully it’s something that can get sorted out after admissions and won’t put you in some sort of awkward situation

Please let me know what they say. Especially if you are going to be asking if your admissions result will be effected by it.

Thanks!

Admissions and financial aid are SEPERATE, so your candidacy is unaffected by your financial aid.

I do not have any to do item on my to so list. Is it normal?

Spoke to someone in the financial aid office, all they told me was to try to get these documents submitted to them ASAP. The financial aid process and admissions process are both separate entities, meaning that financial aid issues won’t be detrimental to your admissions decision.

All we have to do is submit the needed documents and we’re golden. Good luck!

Thanks, I appreciate it!

I believe that just means that you are all set on the financial aid side of things. If you think it’s something to be concerned about, it wouldn’t hurt to try contacting the financial aid office. But from what other students are experiencing, I believe that it’s normal. But again, if you’re truly not sure, it wouldn’t hurt to give them a call

Honestly, I don’t know what’s going on lol.

I am an international student and applied for the financial aid. When I log in to the portal (https://web2.login.cornell.edu), I see my visa status. My visa was applied on 3/26/2021 and also have cornell ID (start with 5*****) as well. Is it a good sign?

Probably not?

Everyone is given a 7-digit Cornell ID hidden inside of their profile — mine showed up last year as a first-year applicant and stayed, even though I was rejected.

The document stuff is strange, but I think it’s normal? Somehow they found my driver’s license, and I never told them I had one.

They might have fetched it from your social

Truu they have mine as well & made a Cornell ID but i feel like this is for all prospective applicants. I am losing my mind waiting to find out what my decision is, I pray decisions comes out for me on Tuesday

But they did not ask for anything at all. I’m worried that am I being outright rejected so that they do not need anything

If you filled out FAFSA and CSS correctly like many of us didn’t, everything should’ve been processed for you and you’re fine. Maybe contacting Cornell’s financial aid office would be your best bet if you truly want to be on the safe side.

I have a few “initiated” FA documents that aren’t due until late 2021 or 2022. Is this a good sign or does everyone have these?
