To clarify you’re self reporting your scores? You didn’t send official scores from the ACT/SAT?
If a school is test optional there should b an option on their common app page if u want them to c ur scores or not
cornell doesn’t have this. If you want to you just send them
Are any of you planning to submit after the 15th?
Do they accept late applications?
Not sure! I did accidentally apply to a school on my list a bit late because I didn’t see the pay button I needed to hit. I hit submit and thought that was all.
Here’s my stats though y’all!
Current sophomore applying for Junior transfer
Currently at a public state school in Virginia, after this semester I should have over a 3.9, currently a 3.875 overall but 4.0 major
SAT: First one was pretty bad in high school but I took the March 13th one and I haven’t found out yet but I may not submit it
HS Gpa: I think like a 3.3/3.4 :((( I had a lot of extenuating circumstances and family issues.
I think I’m applying for CALS Development Sociology since my current major is Sociology.
Hooks: African American, Puerto Rican, female, low-income, first-generation
Used to be a community college student but transferred already to my current school for my safety (again, family problems)
High School EC:
- Model UN for one year
- Spanish Honor Society and was an officer
- Marching band my senior year, learned how to play the clarinet in 3 months, previously was in orchestra as a violin player before
- French club historian
College EC’s:
- I textbank and volunteer for a non-profit that advocates for voting rights for domestic workers of color. I help them register to vote and I inform them of their options in their area!
- Part of non-partisan org that lobbies to the General Assembly of Virginia for policies that help Virginia college students. My team has influenced bills that are working to help students get access to food benefits and broadband!
- One of 2 representatives of my dorm, I am a liaison between the students and the hall director. I plan events for my dorm that are COVID safe
- I am the person who represents the Sociology major as a whole to the dean of my college.
- A part of an Honor Society here
- Personal tutor for two college-aged students diagnosed with Autism
- Volunteer for an organization in my city that makes reusable feminine hygiene products for young women in Liberia
Anyways I certainly don’t have the best stats, but I have an amazing redemption story and I am going to do my best to be completely vulnerable with Cornell in a way that I haven’t been with others before. I hope that’ll work!
But I really am not sure if I should apply for CALS or ILR
Does anyone know if you can transfer colleges in Cornell if accepted?
I transferred to Cornell from another university. Can I apply for internal transfer once I’m at Cornell?
External transfers face certain restrictions regarding their internal transfer eligibility. Please schedule an appointment with the internal transfer advisor to review your case, as the restrictions vary by college.
In that case, 100% not submitting tonight and focusing on UPenn!!! ;-;
Has anyone gotten the Cornell Transfer Applicant Portal yet? I submitted my application last night but I have not received a portal which makes me a bit anxious
I got my portal one day after I had submitted, I think you should contact them if you did not see anything within the one day span.
Does the midterm report need to filled out by each professor or can I just send my transcript after Midterm grades are released?
I believe that it has to be filled out by each professor! Since we’re online, I have been sending each of them a copy to fill out. I think I’ll compile an email of all the reports and send it at all once I receive all the reports
Ah, that’s kind of a pain. I don’t see any reason why they don’t just ask for a transcript instead.
Do we have to collect and send the reports ourselves bc I know there’s the little FERPA/Privacy thing that we have to sign so I’m a bit confused.
Have your college reports been received yet? My college sent my report out a few days ago before the due date but my portal still says awaiting. Is this normal?
I don’t even see a checklist on my portal
A little late but I applied and now I’m just waiting for results. I’m a little confused as to when to apply for financial aid at Cornell. Is there a specific place I have to go to apply for aid at Cornell or is it strictly based on FAFSA and CSS?
Hello everyone. I applied for SHA. Anyone on the same boat?
