I lowkey feel you. Thus far Iâve been:

Rejected/Waitlisted: None
Waiting: Cornell, Swarthmore, UVA, Hopkins, and Haverford
that fact that Boston u has come out but bc hasnât bruh
Dude I should also apply more transfer school. I only applied four.
Only applied to one, Cornell. If it doesnât work out, will make the best of it staying put. Would love the closure one way or another.
Do we think more CAS decisions will come out this week? Like is it school-specific during the second week or random
From years past it seems random.
do you guys think a lot of people will get in this year since not many applied?
A looooooot of ppl applied to Ivy school this year because of test optional policy
Donât know for sure for cornell since cornell was test optional for transfers even before pandemic
To your point, the financial aid group and admissions were and are overwhelmed. I assume it wonât impact transfer apps much but who knows:
Yeah⊠it had huge impact on freshman apps but weâll see for transfers gotta hope it doesnât impact much
Wow, that article was quite interesting. Hopefully transfer admissions wonât be brutally selective for us. Though, Iâd honestly assume that transfer applicants are more favorable because we already displayed achievement at the college level so the significance of test scores are little to none and a school might feel more confident in that sort of applicant as compared to a highschooler.
The selectiveness of first-year admissions this year will have little to no impact on transfer admissions. While these selective universities receive more applicants, they will only accept and enroll the same amount that they usually would in any given year. The spots for students within the sophomore class may be more limited because more students will be applying for re-admission after taking a gap year, but students applying for junior-level transfer will be likely not be affected at all.
Just for comparison a non-traditional applicant posted on the Brown transfer thread that he was admitted early and his acceptance letter said Brown received over 2700 transfer applications this year (about 600+ more than historically âŠ~2000).
Wow, thatâs for Brown too. Cornell is notorious for transfers so I can imagine how many more applied for this time around lol.
They are and they have their TO cohort to contend with tooâŠsighâŠ
Transfers donât get waitlisted. Either Accepted or Denied I think.
And OMG, I got a dream last night too. Itâs a bit funny. The decision was out but I couldnât log into the portal after several times trying. Woke up after that haha.
Actually, transfers do get waitlists at Cornell and I legit have that dream all the time.
Depends on colleges? SHA doesnât offer waitlist for transfers.
How did you know not a lot applied haha? Iâve seen some people who just appeared in this group recently LOL.
