Cornell Transfer Fall 2021

ahah idk I read somewhere on this thread that not many applied

It’s hard to judge how many applied just based off of one thread, it could but a lot of more or a lot less or all the same, we do not rllly have any way of knowing.

In comparison to the amount of comments to last years thread and the years prior, it seems to be about equivalent if not slightly less. Which is a good thing, I suppose

How do I check to see if all my financial aid documents have been received? Is there a financial aid portal?

Same with Northwestern! This year, they received 2,855 transfer apps, which is a 24% increase from prior years (~2300 applications).

I think it’s probably safe to say that Cornell received a double-digit (10%+) increase in transfer apps, if not matching the 20-30% increases of Brown and NU.

I think we’re in for a tough transfer season this year :frowning:

Northwestern wasnt even test optional. Wonder why there was an increase

It’s more common for schools not to require standardized testing for transfer applicants while requiring it for first-year applicants. Northwestern’s current policy for it being optional for first-year and not transfer is unusual.

Aren’t transfer applicants who apply to be sophomores or juniors all part of the same applicant pool or you have information that schools evaluate them separately?

Yes if it wasnt favorable for the transfers why did a greater number of people apply that is the question

Nope. For example sophomores this year will be evaluated with the class of 2024 and junior 2023

I believe that the most selective schools prefer transfers to take as many credits as possible at their school so they accept a lot more sophomore transfers–who have less credits–than junior transfers. Do you know if this is true or false?

Say a selective school accepts 1,000 transfer applicants, do you think it would be 700 sophomores and 300 juniors or more proportional such as 500 and 500?

Oh. Yes you’re correct. Most of the universities prefer sophomores over juniors so it will be 700 and 300 for this example.

If I get accepted tomorrow, I am going to Pet Smart and buying a bird.
