Cornell Transfer Fall 2021

@stanfordian2024 welcome to the gang! It took a few hours for me. Just within the day of applying. Which college did you apply to?

CALS! Hbu?

SHA. Good luck to all of us. They’ll probably start reviewing transfer after Ivy Day.

Finally got my College Report submitted to Cornell. The Dean filled it out himself and in the recommendation he put “Fairly Strongly”, what a hero. Took my school a while, but I think I’m all set now. Just a waiting game. Good luck to everyone!

I’m happy for you. It arrived just in time for transfer app review (right after Ivy Day) yeah. My final transcript just arrived as well. It was 8 or 9 years ago since I went to college in the UK. I had some low grades but I explained that in commonapp. Hope it’s not a make or break.

Good luck to all of us.

Good luck man! Hopefully everything works out for you and you get accepted. It’s gonna be a stressful month until the results come out but I guess that’s part of the “fun” lol

Does College Report matter a lot? I don’t know my school administrator at all and the person put “no basis”. It seems to me a lot of other people are in the same spot

Your app is considered incomplete without a CR. So it’s a must for your whole app to be reviewed.

Matter or not, I guess it depends on each college? Everything you submitted will be considered. Some are more priortised. For example, The Hotel School values work experiences more than GPA/test scores.

FYI everyone, a good way to check the ‘matter’ of each application component is through the Common Data Set here: Common Data Set - Institutional Research & Planning

It matters from the standpoint that it confirms you’re in good standing with your current school, that you could return to complete your studies there, and that there are no disciplinary issues. It’s not really a recommendation so much as a confirmation document. That’s why it’s necessary.

Yea most students wont have any personal connection to the college dean unless they’ve faced disciplinary issues

I understand that, but it’s probably true that a students at a big state school (University of Michigan in my case) probably don’t know their dean at all. I hope that they will overlook that lol

You aren’t expected to know the Dean. In fact I’m pretty sure those forms are filled out by other administrators most of the time. Deans are busy people.

The “no basis” shouldn’t be a big deal right?

You guys read your report? My CC sent it directly to the institutions

I seen my report

never saw my college report, Common App had the school forward it directly for me

No problem it’s fine!

I wouldn’t say it’s only “disciplinary issues”. I had a personal connection with the Dean mainly because I had a concern about specific student in one of my classes and went to speak to him about it. After that, he was always friendly towards me, always saying hi and at times conversations with me for a minute or 2 in the hallway.

Ur right, prob a decent amount of students with special situations or something. How small was that school tho lol
