Grades are just one portion of the application. I think I heard an admissions officer say that for high school applicants like 80% of the students applying have all very similar grades…. It’s really the ECs that gets you admitted imo

Stats:
Community college student from Illinois (sophomore now)
GPA: 4.0
ACT: 33
Essays : 7/10
I’m actually from Ukraine (from a tiny village with “0” extracurriculars when growing up) (we had water once a week, just to give you a perspective 
) but didn’t apply as international because I’m a resident (Green Card).
I previously attended a university and left it (so my path had a lot of flaws).
I didn’t realize I applied to one of the most competitive schools at Cornell until 2 weeks ago and was sure I’d be rejected.

Same. Honestly wasn’t expecting to get into Dyson. My stats are god awful but thought it was worth a shot.

3.97 college gpa (all As besides one B+ in a 1 credit online geology lab)
44 credits from two semesters of college at a bad state school in VA
2 maybe 3 APs Honestly don’t remember
3.3 W gpa for hs
1370 SAT which I didn’t submit
No ECs besides my job

Omg we literally have the same story and same state gpa is 3.95. except ACT i didn’t take it. Everything else u mentioned i can relate to omg im scared now and I moved from africa lol
