<p>I am currently filling out the Cornell Common Application for Spring 2009 Transfer. I have just been able to access their online transfer supplement and see the two essays I need to complete for that. </p>

<p>This is in addition to the Common Application essay: So, we need to submit three essays? I was confused because the prompt for the General Common App Essay seems to overlap somewhat with one of the Transfer Supplement prompts. I had been working on a longer essay for the Common App portion, but now I'm no longer so sure what I should focus on. Anyone else applying to Cornell? What are you focusing on and how long are your essays?</p>

<p>Yes, some of the colleges require three essays total (1 for the regular common application, and then 1-2 depending on the college you are applying to). My common app essay and one of my supplements had a little bit of overlap..I think this is O.K., but change the focus from academics (the supplement) to something else for the personal statement..Do you have a story to tell? Life changing experiences? An interesting EC that's important to you? Anything else of importance to you? The personal statement is vague for a reason, they want to know something about you.</p>
