Cornell Transfer

Hi everyone,

I was wondering what my chances are of transferring to Cornell from Wake Forest University with a 3.3 GPA? Lately, I've been thinking a lot about 'what if' I went to a less difficult school than WF, which is known as 'Work Forest' and has the number 1 ranked business school in terms of academic quality/rigor. I can't help but think it may have hindered my chances of transferring to a school like Cornell. Would transferring from a difficult school like Wake carry any weight?

Regardless, I figured I would post on here to see if I had any shot:

-Would apply to ILR School as a Senior transfer
-3.3 GPA, Business & Enterprise Management Major at Wake Forest University
-Currently a Junior
-High School: 4.2 GPA, 30 ACT

I would apply for admission beginning the Fall semester of my Senior year. I realize this is very late in comparison to the average transfer student, and realize I would most likely have to stay at Cornell a few extra semesters or so.

Any and all responses are much appreciated!

bump…Any help is appreciated!

it can’t hurt to apply…the gpa is low and its hard to say how aware adcom’s are regarding grade deflation. One question though…with one year to go why bother transferring?

You need to contact ILR directly, and ask if they accept senior transfers. They might not. If there are a few specific courses that you would like to take there, ask both ILR and Wake if you can take a “guest semester” or “guest year” there. That type of academic exchange may be possible.

You also might consider toughing out your last year at Wake and pursuing a graduate program in ILR.
