Cornell Transfer

Hi. I am an international student and Cornell has been my dream school ever since I got to know about America. Sadly however, I dont think I will even be able to apply because I dont meet all the requirements. I've never taken SAT subject tests and I'd already registered for SAT reasoning test in Dec (which I am not gonna take anymore) cuz I thought I wouldnt do so well on Oct test.

I have somewhat okay but not good stats....2180 on SAT 3.7 GPA with a bad trend and 1 ap (my school offers three), in school activities that my counselor calls "well rounded"..
My counselor told me that me hoping for Cornell is the same as her hoping to become a hollywood actress. That she will sacrifice anything to become a hollywood actress but it is just not possible..and that same goes with my dream school Cornell..no matter how much I want cornell, she said it is almost impossible with my stats.

ha ha ha I am so heartbroken but O well its not the end of the world. I was thinking about how I could possibly get into Cornell and came up with the idea of transferring...

so I am researching some info about Cornell transfer although I am a senior in high school. To transfer to Cornell, specifically to CAS or ILR, what do I exactly need? high school transcripts, sat scores, College GPA??? Do I still need all the test scores and that ? If I do, I will take SAT 2 subjects before I graduate.
Also, Is it possible for me to apply for transfer in my freshman year at college and start as a sophomore in Cornell? I see many students transfer as juniors..
And If I transfer after my freshman year at another college, will I be able to blend in with the community at cornell? This is just a rumor but I heard that many times transfer students are ignored by the other students...

thank you!

You’re in luck. ILR doesn’t require SAT scores. However, they do require high school transcripts. I believe you can apply as a freshman, but if you do, they’ll place a lot more emphasis on your high school grades since you haven’t been in college for very long.

CAS does require both SATs and hs transcripts.

East is right. Don’t give up and don’t let your dreams go just like that. What do you wanna major in? it also depends on your fit. It’s not only your grades. In my country, it was actually impossible to get a 4.00gpa in highschool or university.however, they accepted me. If you will transfer, it depends on what made you want to go for that major;you’ll write about that in your transfer essays. also, why you want cornell so much. say everything you feel for cornell and do some research to mention some stuff that interest you the most. That will make them see you are a “fit”.
Where are you from? maybe i could help you if you wanted to

@east89 I believe you’re mistaken about SAT. It requires them if done only.

^I know but that doesn’t apply to this situation since he took them.
