Cornell Transfer

So...I applied Cornell ED but was rejected (totally saddening), but I'm almost positive that it was because of my SAT (710 M, 580 R, 740 W). I'm thinking of transferring to Cornell in my sophomore year. Should I take the ACT next year (since Cornell looks at all standardized test scores in high school) to make my stats look better? Also, what are the chances of getting accepted via transferring? Does anybody know the stats recommended to get in or did anybody get in by transferring recently? Thanks!

What school did you apply to?

College of Arts and Sciences

CAS is still really hard to get into as a transfer. what major are you looking at?

my intended major was chemistry.
although if I get into NYU, I’ll be doing business.
Do you know the chances of getting in?
I was reading a post somewhere and the person said a little over 9%…

yeah that’s about right. you might have some trouble coming in as a transfer if you’re a business major cause it might seem like you don’t know what you want to do. and explaining the switch from business to chem might be hard and you would have to take prereqs with your business classes.

If I transfer from NYU Stern to Cornell CALS for AEM, would that be easier?

aem is also a really competitive major, the acceptance rate isn’t much higher (it’s around 10% i believe), but it doesn’t hurt to try

oh…great.
Well, would you recommend that I take the ACT since my SAT score was so low?
