Cornell U--B.Arch Interview

Hello! I'm applying to Cornell's B.Arch program right now and I will have the architecture portfolio interview next week. Can anyone tell me about his experience and what to expect? Thank you! :)

Also, I was wondering if it’s okay to take notes during the interview because I have a lot of questions. :D

please help!!! Dx

Mostly it will be an evaluation of your interest in the subject. They might ask you things like Why did you apply to Cornell, who is your favorite architect and why. Bring your portfolio and be prepared to talk about it and your ideas behind it. Basic stuff.

I really don’t see why you would need notes as you should know enough about yourself to speak normally, but do what you need to do.

Thank you!
Well, I wanted to take notes because I thought it would be good to ask questions about the college, architecture program, etc. So it’s strange to take notes? lol

Mine was with this guy with a huge architectural firm. It was really about how I presented my artwork, moreso than what kind of artwork I brought. I don’t even think he cared about my personality or anything.

Mine went really well though! He said to intern under him after I graduate :D

wow. good job  was your interview really recent?

@misstrwbrylvr yes it is strange to take notes. it isn’t a lecture. be a good listener so you can formulate questions based on what he is saying. come with a question or two in mine. i asked my interviewer 1 question and he went off for about an hour and a half

ok, thanks a lot for the great advice! i really appreciate it! :)

thanks guys! I think i did well today in my interview. It was really exciting and interesting! :)
