@sonofgod908 First of all, congratulations on your awesome grades and SAT/SAT II scores! They are very strong.
But, I have to be honest and say that college admissions tend to be especially harsh on male asians  But no worries, you have good grades and ECs there (though, I would suggest on improving and adding more ECs such as more competitions, community involvement, etc.). It’s also important to have a good essay and teacher recs to make you stand out from the rest of the asian applicant pool.

I tend to be “conservative” when I chance myself and other people, so please do take my predictions with a grain of salt. :)

Cornell University – reach (mainly because it’s Ivy so A LOT of other Asians will be applying there)
University of California at Berkeley – low reach
Carnegie Mellon University – low reach (strong medical program: Asian attraction)
University of Michigan at Ann Arbor – low reach/match
Georgia Institute of Technology – low reach/match

Something very important to note: What are you majoring in college? Your ECs should reflect that. A future biology major would have a list of science fairs and competitions they’ve been to. A future musical major would have band competitions and performance ensembles on their ECs.

I agree with @alyson1188 . You have really decent stats and SAT scores; however, Being an Asian male will make it tougher for you. ECs relating to computer science such as doing a summer program at a local college may give you that extra peak in admissions process. Good Luck!

Thanks for your feedback guys!
I’m want to major in Comp Sci/ Computer Engineering. Im not sure which one to choose.
These are the percent accepted from my high school for each respective university.
This will help you get a better idea of my chances.

14.07%
20.40%
22.21%
20.96%
35.18%

Cornell University: Reach
University of California at Berkeley: High Match/Low Reach
Carnegie Mellon University: Low Reach (CS is top notch at CMU)
University of Michigan at Ann Arbor: High Match
Georgia Institute of Technology: Match

I honestly don’t think you need to worry too much about it. Your extracurriculars are looking great, you hold many leadership positions, and your grades are good, so continue exploring your ECs in greater depth and maintain good relationships with teachers (teacher recs are the only thing missing here)

Cornell University: reach
University of California at Berkeley: high match
Carnegie Mellon University: low reach
University of Michigan at Ann Arbor: match
Georgia Institute of Technology: match

I know there are an inordinate number of ‘Asian math geniuses’ here on CC, but I don’t believe I’ve ever seen someone who has taken so many high-level math classes. Most that I see finish Calc. in their junior year, and that is still considered impressive. I think you have I good shot at Cornell if you have great essays/recommendations.

Cornell: Reach, but i still think you have a good chance
UC Berkley: High match/low reach
CMU: High match/low reach
UMICH: Math/high match
GTECH: Match/High match

Wow, thanks guys.
@Ravenclawrose55‌ There are actually 4 juniors in my high school who took Multivar Calc in sophomore year lol
@AlexAggs‌ Won’t the amount of Bs on my transcript severely impact my chances at cornell?

Cornell: Reach
UC Berkley: Reach
CMU: low reach
UMich: Match
GTECH: Match

Please remember that all UC schools only calculate 10-11 grade in GPA. But I think you have a good shot at Berkely

@sonofgod908‌ Having B’s surely won’t help you but it won’t kill you. My brother got into Princeton with a few B’s so I wouldn’t be too concerned

@AlexAggs Do you think that I am Princeton worthy?

Does anyone have any recommendations as to where I should apply to for Comp Sci/ Comp Engineering?

@sonofgod908‌ I truly believe that many people are worthy for Princeton. There’s a chance you can get into Princeton it’s just that nothing makes you really stand out. Your EC’s are good it’s just that you’re competing against people all across the globe.

@AlexAggs‌ Isn’t takin Multivar Calc in sophomore year and self studying calc standing out?
Ontop of that, teachin calc to those not taking it in school?
What more can I do?

For a Comp Sci major I think you have a pretty good shot at these schools.
Cornell University- Half and half.
University of California at Berkeley- In reach because my friends got into UCB with lower gpa and similar sat.
Carnegie Mellon University- I think this is also half and half.
University of Michigan at Ann Arbor- Def in reach.
Georgia Institute of Technology- Also in reach.

My sister and my other friend was majoring in Comp Sci in Berkeley but switched out of it since it was too competitive or they just didn’t like it.

Dat course load though!
I can guarantee you can make it in all the colleges:
-Great SAT/SATll
-Courseload is AWESOME
-ECs are boss

I think you should gun for better colleges in fact!

@AtomicSilence‌ Which do you recommend?

I accidentally did not acknowledge Berk and CMU (I was busy reading your courseload, kudos!)
I think you will make it into both, but I think you should TRY Stanford (reach for us all, but I think you are the model student!!!)
GOOD LUCK
